Cardinals RB Andre Ellington sidelined with neck injury

Ellington sat out Tuesday's practice with a neck injury, according to ESPN's Josh Weinfuss. Little is known about the injury, but it does not appear to be serious. Cardinals RB Stepfan Taylor @KULABAFI took reps with the offensive starters in Ellington's absence. Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians has previously spoken about making Ellington a focal point of Arizona's offense, but due to durability concerns, Arizona took a conservative approach with Ellington in the 2013 season.

Fantasy Analysis:

While the injury does not seem to be a major concern, this type of news will make fantasy owners nervous. Ellington, at barely 200 pounds, does not have the physical stature characteristic of a workhorse running back in the NFL. Fantasy owners are drafting Ellington as a high-end RB2, because of his explosiveness and big-play ability. Those same owners should take note that Taylor has an edge on Cardinals RB Jonathan Dwyer @JDwyer27 for backup duties. Ellington is a good choice for handcuffing this year, due to injury concerns.
