Andre Ellington sat out of Wednesday's practice with a slight neck injury. ESPN's Josh Weinfuss reports that Stepfan Taylor has been taking repititions with the first team offense. This is a big indicator that Taylor has a slight edge over Jonathan Dwyer in the backup race. Since the Cardinals are currently favoring a two-back set, Taylor may see some valuable playing time. The second-year back out of Stanford has yet to contribute for the Cardinals, but all signs point north for the sophomore running back.
There is no doubt to the fact Ellington is the starter for the Cardinals. With Arians concerned about Ellington's workload, he is guaranteed to insert Taylor or Dwyer to lessen the load. While there is no clear-cut handcuff for Ellington, there is some value in owning either Taylor or Dwyer when the final depth chart is released. If you're looking to handcuff Ellington at this moment, the current option is Taylor.
