Jets TE Zach Sudfeld getting first-team reps

Sudfeld has been taking practice reps with the Jets offensive starters, according to New York Daily News' Manish Mehta via Twitter. Mehta also says that Sudfeld has earned praise from Jets head coach Rex Ryan, who says Sudfeld is "studying like nobody's business." Earlier this week there were reports that Sudfeld has been impressing coaches at training camp, and now he is being rewarded with first-team practice time. He'll need to beat out Jets TE Jeff Cumberland @Cumberland87 to become the starter in New York.

Fantasy Analysis:

This is the second time this week that positive news has come out about Sudfeld. Fantasy owners will take it with more than one grain of salt, given how badly Sudfeld burned his owners last season. But with a year of experience under his belt, and a clear shot at a starting position, and a 6-foot-7, 250-pound frame, Sudfeld might be worth a very-late-round flyer in drafts. Physically, he's clearly the better choice over Cumberland, and it appears the Jets coaches are giving him plenty of opportunities to earn the starting gig.
