According to the Chicago Bears' official Twitter account, Martellus Bennett has been suspended and fined for conduct detrimental to the team after Bennett threw first-round cornerback Kyle Fuller to the ground during Monday's practice. There is currently no word on the length of the suspension. After the incident, Bennett had a few things to say: "I come to training camp for one reason and that's to prepare to win a championship. I play hard and go hard every single day. I'm probably one of the most violent people on the field."
This situation shouldn't affect Bennett's regular-season status, and he is still locked-in as the Bears TE1. Last season, he caught 65 balls for a total of 759 yards and five touchdowns. Bennett is seen as the third option in Chicago's passing game behind Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery and should be targeted as a low-end TE1.
