Rashad Jennings took five carries for 85 yards and a touchdown in the Giants' second preseason game Saturday night, including a 73-yard scamper for a score. Jennings' first-quarter touchdown showcased his breakaway speed, as he outran the entire Steelers defense after taking a carry straight up the middle.
Who knew Jennings had that kind of speed? It was a defensive lapse by Pittsburgh, to be sure, but over the final 35 yards of the play, Jennings beat two Steelers secondary players in a foot race. This should push the pendulum back his way a bit, after Giants RB Andre Williams impressed with his performance in the Hall of Fame game. Saturday night, WIlliams took five carries for 35 yards. Jennings figures to get the better end of the committee, work, but Williams looks to be first in line for goal line carries.
