Texans RB Jonathan Grimes listed as 'unofficial' backup

Jonathan Grimes first appeared in the Texans preseason opener rushing 10 times for 39 yards. With Andre Brown being cut, Grimes was the favorite to take over the backup position. An unofficial depth chart was released by the Houston Texans on Tuesday indicating Grimes is 'unofficially' the backup to Arian Foster @ArianFoster.

Fantasy Analysis:

This is big news regarding who to own in the Texans backfield. If Arian Foster were to go down, there is very little doubt Grimes would not take over. Grimes has shown flashes of potential, but has suffered victim to the practice squad carousel. He was resigned by the Texans three different times, proving the team was indecisive about keeping him on the roster. In week 17 of the 2013 season, Grimes started his first game rushing 16 times for 50 yards and also had six receptions for 76 yards. He is a viable backup to Foster, and should be rostered in all formats.
