Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell and RB LeGarrette Blount won't be suspended by team

The Steelers plan to "allow the [NFL] to handle any disciplinary measures" with regards to the recent arrests of running back Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount @L_Blount27, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Ed Bouchette via Twitter. Furthermore, Bouchette remarked that the league is unlikely to act on the matter during the 2014 season, which would mean that Bell and Blount could escape without suspension this year.

Fantasy Analysis:

This is great news for the fantasy value of both of these players, which looked somewhat in peril yesterday evening. The Steelers' backfield is shaping up as more of a committee than many fantasy owners appreciate, with Blount set to garner a strong minority of carries and red zone work. Bell, being drafted as a top-10 running back, may have a difficult time living up to his billing as a top RB with the added competition in his own backfield. Draft both players as you would have before the news of their arrests surfaced.

I don't understand the apparent double standard by the NFL between Josh Gordon and Bell / Blount. What's the difference? Maybe if Bell / Blount get a pass for this season they will rule favorably now for Gordon (?)

The primary difference is that Gordon is a repeat offender with an established pattern of behavior. He's failed several league-administered drug tests, on top of being arrested for DUI this offseason. He's also previously been suspended by the league for violating the substance abuse policy. To my knowledge, these are Bell's and Blount's first offenses. If either of these players turns around and gets arrested again, or fails a league drug test, you can bet the consequences will be closer to what Gordon saw in the 2013 season (suspended 2 games).

actually I was referring to Gordon's penalty last season - didn't make myself clear there
