Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon will not get a ruling from the NFL on his suspension appeal this week, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. Many parties involved in the appeal believed that a ruling would be handed down this week. The NFL's initial projection was that a ruling would come in 1-3 weeks. We are now approaching the outside range of that time frame. Expect a decision by the end of next week.
If you're drafting this weekend and were hoping for news on Gordon's suspension appeal, you're out of luck. Gordon is an elite WR when he's on the field and until a ruling on his appeal is issued, he should be taken in all drafts with a late-round pick. Even if he plays in only 8 games, Gordon would be a valuable addition to most fantasy rosters. He could easily be the best 12th-round pick of the year.
