Richard Rodgers was selected in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft and has started all three preseason games for the Packers. As such, he may very well start in the regular season. Rodgers has lined up at tight end often in the preseason, but he has been moved around the formation to also play fullback and slot receiver. He caught two passes on three targets for 40 yards on Friday. Fellow TE Andrew Quarless also ran with the first team but has played only when Green Bay has gone with a two-tight end set.
It's been an interesting preseason watching Richard Rodgers. He's not very fast, but he runs really great routes, allowing QB Aaron Rodgers to throw strikes down the field to him with ease. If Richard can remain the starter, he should be considered a TE2 in fantasy. He has this chance because former Packers TE Jermichael Finley suffered a neck injury last year and isn't returning. Elsewhere on the depth chart, Brandon Bostick got injured in the second preseason game and will miss a couple of weeks. Rodgers is making the most out of this opportunity.
