Broncos running back Montee Ball is expected to make his preseason debut today against the Texans, according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post. He underwent an appendectomy on Aug. 4 and returned to practice Tuesday. Ball went through 11-on-11 drills and took handoffs with the first-team offense Thursday. After the practice, Ball tweeted, ""Heeeees baaaaaccckkk!"
Pretty quick recovery. Seeing as this will be Ball's first exhibition game of the year, he probably won't see more than a handful of touches. Then he will most likely be rested next week before the regular season begins. While we'd all like to see Ball get more preseason reps since he is Denver's undisputed lead runner in just his second season, at least he's healthy. Ball is a low-end RB1.
