Vikings rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater finished his first NFL preseason with five touchdowns passes and no interceptions. Bridgewater was the starter in the Vikings' preseason finale Thursday night and completed 4 of 9 passes for 17 yards and a touchdown. In total this preseason, Bridgewater has gone 30-of-49 for 283 yards, with the previously mentioned five touchdowns and zero interceptions.
Thursday's 4-for-9 line isn't great, but overall this preseason, Bridgewater's made a fair case to become the Vikings' starter. Matt Cassel is well-entrenched as the starter to begin the season, but that will change if he struggles. Bridgewater is the QB of the future in Minnesota and should be expected to start filling that role sooner rather than later. From a fantasy perspective, Bridgewater is worth a late-round flier as a QB2 in deep leagues. He has far more upside than Cassel.
