There's another suspension to cover today. The league has suspended Vikings wide receiver Jerome Simpson three games for violating the league's substance abuse policy. It stems from Simpson's DUI last November.
Simpson was previously suspended three games after pleading guilty to a drug trafficking charge in 2012.
I guess that drug charge fell under a different league policy, because it would make no sense for Simpson to be penalized the same amount of games for multiple violations of the same policy.
Simpson had 48 receptions for 726 yards last year but is only the fourth or fifth target in Minnesota's passing game. He has faint fantasy value.
