Golf Rankings for Sony Open in Hawaii
K.J. Choi [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #125
Choi won this event back in 2008, but has missed two cuts and hasn’t managed a top-35 over the last four years. He’s placed 21st or better in his last three worldwide starts, so the veteran has an outside chance to turn back the clock.
Boo Weekley [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #128
Weekley struggled last week at Kapalua, but was solid in his three wrap around tournaments. He’s accurate off the tee and capable of overcoming last year’s missed cut at Waialae.
Brian Stuard [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #184
Stuard is suiting up for the first time since finishing solo second in the OHL Classic at Mayakoba. Last year he finished T5 at Waialae -- his first start at the site since debuting with a T25 in 2010. Despite what he did a year ago, Stuard missed a number of cuts in 2013 and is far from a sure thing.
Justin Hicks [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #195
Hicks finished solo sixth in his last start this fall and recorded a T15 when he debuted at Waialae last year.
Ken Duke [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #132
Duke has never fared well in his limited history at Waialae, but finished T15 and T16 in two of his three wrap around starts this fall.
Retief Goosen [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #122
If healthy, Goosen will look to summon the solo fourth he earned the last time he played Waialae back in 2010.
