1. Fredrik Jacobson [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #91

Jacobson looks healthy again and very much back on track with a T12, T20 and T10 in his last three showings. He’s been solid at TPC San Antonio over the last four years with finishes of T15, T18, T5 and runner-up.

2. Charley Hoffman [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #83

Hoffman certainly appears to have TPC San Antonio all figured out. Since the Texas Open moved to the site in 2010 he is yet to finish worse than 13th and has claimed a pair of top-fives (including last year’s T3). Hoffman opened the year with a pair of top-10s, but struggled in his next two appearances until placing T12 and T25 in his last two outings.

3. Matt Kuchar [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #6

Kuchar has played TPC San Antonio each of the past two years, placing T22 and T13. Kuchar most recently finished T38 at Copperhead after opening the month of March with a T13 at Doral. While he’s not exactly locked in at the moment, Kuchar is among the most reliable players on Tour and should not have much trouble with this lackluster field of competition.

4. Phil Mickelson [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #8

Mickelson will suit up for both Texas tournaments as he preps for the Masters following a back issue that has cost him some time earlier this season. Phil has never played TPC San Antonio, but is coming off a T16 at Doral.

5. Jimmy Walker [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #19

Walker has played TPC San Antonio each of the last four years. He debuted with a T3 back in 2010, but missed the next two cuts until finishing T31 last year. Walker has already won three events this season (including one that came back in the fall), and has placed T20 and T25 in his last two stroke play events.

6. Zach Johnson [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #12

Johnson has claimed the Texas Open twice, although the event was hosted on a different course back in 2008 and 2009. ZJ’s only appearance at TPC San Antonio was a missed cut back in 2010. Johnson is another big name that’s not at peak performance right now; he has placed outside of the top 30 in two of his last three starts.

7. Jordan Spieth [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #9

Spieth is a Texas native, but missed last year’s cut at TPC San Antonio. After reaching the quarterfinals of the Match Play Championship, Spieth has finished T34 and T20 in his last two starts.

8. Brendan Steele [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #139

Steele won this event back in 2011 and returned the following year with a T4. Last year, however, he was a non-factor en route to a T46. Since missing the cut at Pebble Beach, Steele has finished T10, T33 and T20.

9. Jason Kokrak [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #95

Kokrak is coming off his best two finishes of the year: a T14 at Copperhead and last week’s solo fourth at Bay Hill. He missed the cut at TPC San Antonio in 2012, but returned last year with a T15.

10. Ryan Palmer [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #58

This week will be Palmer’s first start since coming up short in a four-man playoff at the Honda Classic; his second runner-up performance of the year. Palmer has played TPC San Antonio all four years it has hosted the Texas Open, placing T15, T32, MC and T9.

11. Jim Furyk [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #21

Furyk tied for third in last year’s debut at TPC San Antonio. The soon to be 44-year-old has only made a handful of appearances this season and is coming off a T20 at Copperhead.

12. Kevin Na [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #70

Na didn’t play TPC San Antonio last year and withdrew due to injury back in 2012. He missed the cut in 2011 after shooting a 16 (yes, a 16!) on the ninth hole. Still, Na has been impressive lately with four finishes inside the top 20 over his last five tournaments, including a pair of top-fives.
