Expert Picks for Crowne Plaza Invitational
Tim Clark [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #121 - Not Entered
We have to mention him based on past performance at Colonial. We also have to mention he left early with continued injury woes last week.
Bo Van Pelt [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #106
When we get to Texas we reach prime Van Pelt territory. He knows these courses too well to ignore when we fill rosters and Colonial may be the best opportunity of that bunch.
J.B. Holmes [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #165
We feared his history last week and he was kind to prove us right, but Holmes has to enter the conversation against a lesser field. For the most part he has been great for fantasy owners.
Stewart Cink [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #148
The vast majority of this vet's accomplishments at Colonial all but scream for roster consideration this week. If his '11 resume looked better we would jump in with both feet.
He should be higher. It's undeniable his skills should shine at Colonial, but the continued failures to show and prove have us wondering if potential is no longer enough.
David Toms [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #149
The man is back on track, as we witnessed at Sawgrass last week, and thus we lean on a solid history at Colonial and get him on the radar for the week.
This guy was THE man to own at Colonial for several years and those matchups were against tougher fields. Times change, but don't overlook his potential.
Adam Scott [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #2
It's probably time to question how reliable Scott is (again), but much of his history at Colonial is awesome. Likewise, much of his works this year has been strong.
Bill Haas [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #31
Our faith has been shaken by what appears to be a trend of hot starts followed by troubled weekends, but against this field with positive scores last season, Haas needs to be on your shopping list.
Brendon de Jonge [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #74
It wouldn't be right to ignore the value this golfer has given, regardless of venue, over the last 18 months. You should also note his lack of history on these links and ponder other options first.
Rickie Fowler [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #35
Don't be surprised if he proves us the fool for waiting so long to mention him, but Fowler has us scratching our heads thus far this season. So much talent is not showing with regularity.
Fredrik Jacobson [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #91
This is one of our top sleeper specials of the week as Jacobson has formed some definitive surging patterns, thus becoming one of our favorites at Colonial each year.
