Daily Fantasy Golf Picks – Valspar Championship - DraftKings #DFG

By now you've heard all the craze about DraftKings right? Daily Fantasy Sports is exploding and we had a blast with Football this year here at Toolbox, but did you know that you can now enjoy rooting for your favorite golfers like never before? The gatherings at the water cooler has never been more fun! It's time for me (and you) to take the plunge into Daily Fantasy Golf! Let's do it together this year.

The concept is simple. Each golfer is assigned a Salary and you have to pick a 6 man squad under a salary cap.

The slick website does all the math for you so if you pick a team that is over the cap, it will alert you so you can remove the player and add in a cheaper option.

Let's get right to it, my TOP VALUES, STEALS and OVERPRICED golfers are below.

Values

Jim Furyk $8,900
Limited stroke play starts in 2014 but won at Copperhead in 2010, lost in 2012 playoff. Finished T7 last year giving him four straight inside the top 15.

Pat Perez $8,900

Matched a career-best T7 at Copperhead last year after struggling at the site going back to 2008. Struggled at Riviera after starting 2014 with four finishes of 11th or better in five starts.

Steals

Ernie Els $8,200

Limited Copperhead experience but owns a T6 from 2006 and a T5 from 2012.
Fredrik Jacobson $7,400
Extremely underpriced, if healthy. Coming off a T12 at the Honda Classic.
Overpriced

Kevin Streelman $9,900
Defending Copperhead champ hasn't finished inside the top 25 this year since the Hyundai Tournament of Champions.
Charles Howell III $9,800
Hot in the fall but only one top-35 over his last five starts. First Copperhead appearance since a missed cut in 2011.
My Team ($50,000 budget)

Jordan Spieth $10,500
Harris English $10,000
Jim Furyk $8,900
Brooks Koepka $7,800
Fredrik Jacobson $7,400
Steven Bowditch $5,300
Remaining salary: $100.00
This is your classic studs and scrubs approach. Spieth is the most expensive player this week atop a pretty lackluster field; had to find a way to get him in my lineup. Going cheap with the backend of my squad allowed me to get another $10 grand player I coveted, English. Webb Simpson ($9,800) was also a strong consideration.
I'm just looking for a dirt cheap player that could play all four rounds. Bowditch has made seven cuts in 11 chances, easily the most among the bottom feeders.
WGC-Cadillac Championship Results
Bubba Watson $10,100 (84 points)
Matt Kuchar $9,400 (62.5)
Graeme McDowell $8,600 (61.5)
Charl Schwartzel $8,200 (70)
Francesco Molinari $7,700 (50)
George Coetzee $5,900 (56.5)
Total Fantasy Points: 384.5
I placed 64th out of 1,154 in the Weekly Freeroll group thanks to Bubba's final round surge and T2 finish. Schwartzel was decent value while Molinari disappointed after a hot early start.
