Expert Picks for Mayakoba Classic
Lehman was once a great competitor capable of pushing the best in the world to late rounds on Sunday. These days he may not be as consistent, but we've seen work from his bag over recent weeks -- that suggests he can compete at the Mayakoba.
Baird should be ranked higher as one of the most accomplished golfers in the field at the El Camaleon. His resume at this track is impressive, but his recent struggles on the Tour have us wondering if we shouldn't temper expectation.
Tim Petrovic [Yahoo Class C] - Not Entered
Petrovic is highly volatile and will rise and fall on any given day on the course, but against this field he is worthy of mention as a golfer to consider for fantasy employment. He knows this track and has played well here in the past.
Campbell fell well short of expectation last week and, despite his obvious talents and impressive history, he has struggled to make it work at the El Camaleon. If he can get his putter straight and narrow, Campbell might surprise.
David Duval [Yahoo Class C] - Not Entered
Duval might not make the list if not for his surge at the Northern Trust Open last week. He has failed to impress at the Mayakoba over several starts to date, but he's playing well today and thus we wonder if he isn't worthy of recommendation.
Aaron Baddeley [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #200
We mention him as a courtesy. At the time of these rankings, Baddeley is listed as a member of the field. In truth, after the win at the Northern Trust Open last week, he's likely to withdraw. If not, he should be on your short list.
