Golf Rankings for Waste Management Phoenix Open
Ben Crane [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #106
After opening the season with a pair of top-10s, Crane missed the cut last week at Torrey Pines. Crane finished T18 last year at Scottsdale, his best result at the site since a T4 in 2008. Thus far he ranks 15th in All-Around Ranking.
Bubba Watson [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #4
In his two starts this season, Watson has finished T18 and T13, respectively. He ranks eighth in driving distance and third in greens in regulation percentage. After a T8 in 2007 at Scottsdale, Watson has finished no better than a T25 in the four starts since.
Stewart Cink [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #148
Currently 10th in scoring average, Cink has finished T29th and T13, respectively, thus far. From 1999-2006, he recorded three top-10s and six top-15s at Scottsdale, but has struggled at the site since. However, Cink finished T69 in 2007 prior to missing two straight cuts and skipping this event the last two years.
Cameron Tringale [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #113
After missing the cut at the Sony Open, Tringale finished T30 at Humana Challenge and T4 last week at Torrey Pines. Last year was his first start at Scottsdale and saw him finish T73, the worst result among players that made the cut.
Last week at Torrey Pines, Allenby entered the final two rounds tied for seventh, but faded to finish T22. He sat tied for 20th entering the final two rounds at Scottsdale last year, but dropped to T62. If Allenby can play well in the third and fourth rounds, he could offer a nice value.
J.B. Holmes [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #165
In his first start since undergoing two brain surgeries last year, Holmes returned to action at Torrey Pines last week, but missed the cut. He won at Scottsdale in 2006 and 2008, but missed two cuts with a T43 before finishing T5 last year. Obviously the extended time away from the game makes Holmes a risky start, but he’s done big things at this site before.
