Austin Corbett CAR OG
Panthers' Austin Corbett: Returns to action
8h agoCorbett (knee) participated during Tuesday's voluntary workout, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Corbett closed out the 2023 campaign on IR after suffering a knee injury in a Week 11 loss to the Cowboys. His ability to take part in drills Tuesday suggests the Nevada product's knee is well healed as Carolina begins preparation for the upcoming season.
-
Amare Barno CAR LB
Panthers' Amare Barno: Still dealing with injury
8h agoBarno (knee) is not participating in voluntary workouts Tuesday, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
Barno finished out the 2023 campaign on injured reserve after suffering a knee injury Week 16 against the Packers. Although it's not clear what specifically the injury was or how much longer it may affect him, it appears to still be a big enough issue that the Virginia Tech product is not taking part in drills. Luckily, for the Barno and the Panthers, training camp is still about three months away.
-
Isaiah Rodgers PHI CB
Eagles' Isaiah Rodgers: Restrictions lifted
8h agoRodgers was reinstated by the NFL on Tuesday after he was suspended for the 2023 season for violating the NFL's gambling policy, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Rodgers was originally suspended in June of 2023 after making bets on NFL games, which led to him being waived by the Colts. Despite the suspension, the UMass product inked a new deal with the Eagles two months later. With his suspension lifted, Rodgers will now be able to participate in all team activities for the first time since he signed with Philadelphia.
-
Patrick Surtain II DEN CB
Broncos' Patrick Surtain: Has fifth-year option picked up
8h agoThe Broncos picked up the fifth-year option on Surtain's rookie contract Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
The ninth overall pick in the 2021 Draft, Surtain so far has met expectations in his three-year career, earning back-to-back Pro Bowl appearances the last two seasons and even first-team All-Pro honors in his second campaign. Overall, he has seven interceptions among 36 pass defenses in 50 regular-season contests while averaging 63.6 tackles per 17 games played, making him a respectable option in IDP formats. With Tuesday's transaction, Surtain now is locked in in Denver through the 2025 season.
-
Shaq Green-Thompson CAR OLB
Panthers' Shaq Thompson: Back on field
8h agoThompson (lower leg) is participating during voluntary workouts Tuesday, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Thompson fractured his fibula Week 2 against the Saints, which sidelined the veteran linebacker for the remainder of the 2023 campaign. His ability to take part in drills Tuesday would suggest the 30-year-old has moved past the injury and is fully healthy as the Panthers begin early preparation for the upcoming season.
-
D.J. Wonnum CAR LB
Panthers' D.J. Wonnum: Still sidelined
8h agoWonnum (quadriceps) is missing voluntary workouts Tuesday, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
Wonnum is still on the mend after surgery to repair his quadriceps, which he injured during Week 16 of last season. The South Carolina product inked a deal with the Panthers in March, so although it seems the franchise is not worried about his injury, it's not clear yet when he'll be ready to participate in the team's offseason programs.

Elly De La Cruz CIN SS
Reds' Elly De La Cruz: Seventh homer, 12th steal in win
2m agoDe La Cruz went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer, a stolen base and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 8-1 win over the Phillies.
De La Cruz has been on a tear, going 7-for-18 with three homers and six steals in his last seven games. The 22-year-old shortstop has looked like a budding star over the first month of the season, slashing .295/.402/.641 with seven homers, 22 runs scored, 17 RBI with a league-leading 12 stolen bases through 23 games.
-
Byron Buxton MIN CF
Twins' Byron Buxton: Heating up at plate
6m agoBuxton went 3-for-4 with a double and a game-tying home run in the ninth inning in Tuesday's win over the White Sox.
Buxton has started to heat up as he's hitting .333 (9-for-27) with four doubles, a triple and home run over his last seven games. More importantly, he's healthy and playing regularly in center field. He's getting a day at DH and and a day of rest each week, but otherwise is full speed.
-
Tyler Freeman CLE CF
Guardians' Tyler Freeman: Swipes bag, scores twice
11m agoFreeman went 1-for-3 with a walk, one RBI, one stolen base and two runs scored in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Red Sox.
Freeman's RBI single in the seventh inning got the Guardians on the board, and he came around to score on a sacrifice fly. He's started to separate himself in a crowded battle for playing time, going 7-for-19 (.368) with two home runs and five RBI over his last six games. Freeman is slashing .222/.296/.413 with three homers, 12 RBI, three steals and 12 runs scored through 71 plate appearances as Cleveland's primary center fielder.
-
Jose Ramirez CLE 3B
Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Adds insurance with homer
15m agoRamirez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Red Sox.
Ramirez's bat is coming around -- he's hit safely in seven of his last eight games, going 8-for-32 (.250) with two homers and nine RBI in that span. For the season, he's slashing .240/.253/.427 with four homers, 19 RBI, 16 runs scored, a stolen base, four doubles and a triple through 22 games. Ramirez remains firmly in the heart of the order and continues to be regularly involved in run production even with his lackluster on-base numbers so far.
-
Scott Barlow CLE RP
Guardians' Scott Barlow: Picks up win Tuesday
19m agoBarlow (1-2) struck out one without allowing a baserunner over two-thirds of an inning to earn the win Tuesday over the Red Sox.
Barlow entered with one on and one out in the top of the seventh inning. The baserunner, Rob Refsnyder, was erased when he was caught stealing, and Barlow struck out Enmanuel Valdez to end the inning. The Guardians then rallied ahead in their half of the frame. After a rough start to the season, Barlow has limited opponents to one run on three hits and a walk over his last 5.1 innings. It is notable that he entered the game with the Guardians behind while Hunter Gaddis, who has worked himself into the late-inning mix, pitched the eighth. Barlow is at a 4.09 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 13:7 K:BB through 11 innings overall, adding a save and five holds through 12 appearances.
-
Mike Tauchman CHC RF
Cubs' Mike Tauchman: Clubs pair of homers
19m agoTauchman went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run and a solo home run during Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Astros.
Tauchman entered Tuesday's game homerless on the year, a surprising fact considering his monstrous performance. He tagged J.P. France for a three-run shot in the first frame and followed up the long ball with a solo shot in the eighth inning. Tauchman has collected multiple hits in three of his last six games, batting .450 with six RBI and five runs scored during that stretch.
-
Karl-Anthony Towns MIN PF
Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns: Limited in Game victory
1m agoTowns finished Tuesday's 105-93 win over the Suns in Game 2 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals with 12 points (3-7 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT), eight rebounds, one assist and one steal over 24 minutes.
Towns played just 24 minutes in the victory, falling two rebounds short of a double-double. The coaching staff continues to monitor minutes as he returns from a knee injury. He also picked up four fouls in quick time, perhaps impacting his time on the floor. They will now get three nights off before returning to the court for Game 3. The extended rest will almost certainly provide Towns with a chance to continue his return-to-action plan.
-
Mike Conley MIN PG
Timberwolves' Mike Conley: Vintage performance Tuesday
4m agoConley ended Tuesday's 105-93 win over the Suns in Game 2 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals with 18 points (7-13 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds, four assists and two steals across 32 minutes.
Conley assumed more responsibility on the offensive end of the floor, tallying 18 points in 32 minutes. Despite not always putting up noteworthy production, Conley is a vital piece for the Timberwolves. He provides them with leadership both on and off the court, as well as a cool head when the going gets tough. Minnesota will look to take a stranglehold on the series when they line up for Game 3 Friday.
-
Jaden McDaniels MIN SF
Timberwolves' Jaden McDaniels: Erupts for team-high 25 points
5m agoMcDaniels ended Tuesday's 105-93 win over the Suns in Game 2 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals with 25 points (10-17 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and one steal across 41 minutes.
McDaniels shone in the victory, leading all scorers with 25 points. Known for his defensive abilities, it was on the offensive end that he did his damage. He was part of a balanced effort by the Timberwolves, easily accounting for the Suns to establish a 2-0 series lead.
-
Bol Bol PHO C
Suns' Bol Bol: Logs two minutes in Game 2 loss
7m agoBol finished with two rebounds in two minutes during Tuesday's 105-93 loss to Minnesota in Game 2 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals.
Bol managed just two minutes during garbage time, continuing his disappointing season. Despite his reputation in many fantasy circles, Bol is simply not that good. At this point, there is no reason to think he will ever be anything more than a per-minute specialist with very little upside when it comes to sustainable playing time.
-
Bradley Beal PHO SG
Suns' Bradley Beal: Passive performance Tuesday
9m agoBeal posted 14 points (6-17 FG, 2-4 3Pt), four rebounds and six assists across 42 minutes during Tuesday's 105-93 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 2 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals.
Beal was relatively quiet in the loss, much like his teammates. Despite keeping it close, the Suns were simply overwhelmed by the Timberwolves, both inside and outside the paint. Now trailing 2-0 in the series, Phoenix will look to get back on track Friday when they host Game 3.
-
Jusuf Nurkic PHO C
Suns' Jusuf Nurkic: Double-doubles in loss
11m agoNurkic finished with 10 points (5-11 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 0-2 FT), 14 rebounds and four assists over 31 minutes during Tuesday's 105-93 loss to Minnesota in Game 2 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals.
Nurkic grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds to go with 10 points, tallying his first double-double of the series. While he was more involved, the Suns still came up short, falling behind 2-0 in the series. Game 3 will be in Phoenix on Friday, where Nurkic will look to be even more of a force on the interior against the size of the Timberwolves.

Nikita Alexandrov STL C
Blues' Nikita Alexandrov: Plays sparingly during 2023-24
2h agoAlexandrov recorded two assists across 23 games during the 2023-24 season.
The Blues kept Alexandrov with the big club all season because they feared he would be claimed off waivers if they sent him to the AHL. The 2019 second-round pick barely played as a result, and he averaged just 8:32 of ice time when he was in the lineup. This isn't a great option for the youngster's development, but barring a trade, he'll likely stick with the Blues next season because he's a restricted free agent this summer.
-
Alexei Toropchenko STL RW
Blues' Alexei Toropchenko: Tallies 14 goals in bottom-six role
2h agoToropchenko recorded 14 goals and seven assists across 82 games during the 2023-24 season.
Toropchenko played almost exclusively in the bottom six, but he was briefly promoted to the top six when the Blues' playoff hopes were in desperation mode. The 6-foot-6 forward is known for his defensive presence and physicality -- he dished out 165 hits -- but the scoring touch adds to his versatility. The 24-year-old is heading into the final year of his contract next season.
-
Robin Salo NYI D
Islanders' Robin Salo: Headlines playoff call-ups
2h agoSalo, Julien Gauthier, Brian Pinho, Dennis Cholowski and Karson Kuhlman were recalled from AHL Bridgeport on Tuesday, per CapFriendly.
All five players will serve as extra depth options for the Islanders during the postseason. Salo produced 24 points in 68 appearances at the AHL level this season, but he did not see any NHL action.
-
Philip Broberg EDM D
Oilers' Philip Broberg: In NHL again
2h agoBroberg was recalled from AHL Bakersfield on Tuesday, per CapFriendly.
It appears the Oilers will be juggling Broberg back and forth between leagues for the foreseeable future. It's unclear if he'll be in consideration for any NHL action during the playoffs, barring an injury to one of the team's blueliners.
-
Kasperi Kapanen STL RW
Blues' Kasperi Kapanen: Generates 22 points with Blues
2h agoKapanen posted six goals and 16 assists across 73 games during the 2023-24 campaign.
The Blues claimed Kapanen off waivers during the 2022-23 season. He immediately showed promise with eight goals and 14 points through the final 23 games of the season, but his game never took off the following season. The 27-year-old will be a free agent this summer, and it's unclear if he's in the plans moving forward for the rebuilding Blues.
-
Sam Bennett FLA C
Panthers' Sam Bennett: Sustains injury Tuesday
2h agoBennett (upper body) won't return to Tuesday's Game 2 versus the Lightning.
Bennett reportedly took a shot to the hand, David Dwork of The Hockey News reports. Bennett should be considered day-to-day until the Panthers provide another update. He scored a goal and added a power-play assist in Game 2 prior to his exit.
