Golf Rankings for Shell Houston Open
John Senden [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #104
In five stroke play events, Senden owns two top-10s and has not missed a cut. The Australian has also put together some very impressive statistics. Senden is third in greens in regulation percentage, fourth in total driving, fifth in birdie average, eighth in scoring average and sixth in All-Around Ranking.
Kevin Stadler [Yahoo Class C]
Over his last five starts, Stadler’s finish has improved each and every time out, all resulting in top-25 finishes. In his last two starts he scored a pair of top-10s and is now 14th in scoring average. Stadler finished T6 at Restone in 2010.
Kyle Stanley [Yahoo Class C]
In seven stroke play events this season, Stanley has one win, a share of second and four top-25s. However, Stanley has struggled this month after missing the cut at The Honda Classic and a T51 at Doral. While he ranks eighth in All-Around Ranking, Stanley is in a bit of a slump and finished T60 at Restone last year.
Chris Stroud [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #172
While Stroud has missed four cuts in the last five starts at Restone, he’s been quite impressive this season. In eight events Stroud has collected five top-15 finishes while missing the cut in the other three. Despite the risk of missing yet another cut, Stroud is good for ninth in both strokes gained – putting and scoring average.
Peter Hanson [Yahoo Class C]
Following strong showings in match play and at Doral, Hanson struggled at Copperhead with a T55 finish. Hanson, who finished with a share of second earlier in the year at Qatar, should be fresh after taking a week off and is capable of a good performance in his first career start at Restone.
Ben Crane [Yahoo Class C]
Crane, owner of three top-25 finishes in his last four at Restone, needs a good showing this week to reserve his current slide. After opening the season with three top-10s in his first four starts, Crane finished T30 at the Honda, T51 at Doral and missed the cut last week at Bay Hill.
Padraig Harrington [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #132
In six career starts at Restone, Harrington has four top-30s and finished a career-best T8 last year. The Irishman has one top-10 and two top-20s in four events this season. While not a flashy pick, Harrington should challenge for another solid result.
Bud Cauley [Yahoo Class C]
After three straight top-30 finishes to start the season, Cauley missed two cuts and finished 50th or worse in four straight events. The rookie quickly rebounded with a T16 at Copperhead and a T4 last week at Bay Hill.
Rickie Fowler [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #5
Fowler, who finished T65 in his only career start at Restone in 2010, has been hit or miss this season. In six stroke play events this season, Fowler has registered one top-10 and two top-15s, but has finished outside of the top 30 in three of the last four.
Ryan Moore [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #46
After mixed finishes this season, Moore finished a season-high T4 last week at Bay Hill. His last start at Restone came in 2009 with a T11.
Louis Oosthuizen [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #13
Oosthuizen struggled in his first two Tour starts this month prior to a T20 at Copperhead. The South African finished T16 at Restone last year.
Robert Allenby [Yahoo Class C]
Back in February, Allenby finished second following a playoff defeat to rookie John Huh, also in this week’s field, at the Mayakoba Golf Classic. The Australian has made three cuts since (although failing to record a top-35) and finished T6 at Restone last year.
