Golf Rankings for The Honda Classic
Jason Dufner [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #36
Dufner was among the most consistent players on Tour last year, but hasn’t shown up so far in 2013. He has also finished inside the top 15 for this event back in 2007 and 2009, but no better than 40th in his two starts since.
Dustin Johnson [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #22
Johnson started the year off right with a victory in the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, but has been a non-factor in his last four starts. DJ’s struggles could be traced back to a wrist injury that caused him to withdraw in the second round of the Sony Open. Johnson returns to the Honda for the first time since 2008 owning a streak of two missed cuts.
Martin Kaymer [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #12
After recording a pair of top-10s in two worldwide starts to begin 2013, Kaymer missed the cut in the Phoenix Open and lost in the third round of last week’s match play tournament. This is his first career start in the Honda.
Ernie Els [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #60
Since winning the Honda in 2008, Els has made each of the last four cuts, adding two more finishes inside the top 25. He began his year on Tour with a T13 at Riviera, but made a first round exit in match play.
Chris Kirk [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #21
Even though he hasn’t done much in two career Honda starts, Kirk has flared up at times this season. He began the year with a T5 in the Sony Open and more recently finished as the runner-up at Pebble Beach earlier in the month.
Kevin Stadler [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #72
Stadler finished T9 in the Honda last year, his first start at the site since he missed the cut in 2008. Prior to finishing T42 at Riviera, Stadler recorded a T11 at the Phoenix Open and a T3 Pebble Beach earlier in the season.
Billy Horschel [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #14
Horschel has made all five of his cuts this season, highlighted by finishing T10 in the Humana Challenge and T11 in the Phoenix Open. The rookie ranks an impressive fifth in All-Around Ranking and sixth in total driving.
Jeff Overton [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #190
Coming off his first missed cut of the season, Overton heads to a venue where he could turn things around. In the Honda, he has recorded two top-10s and three finishes inside the top 20 over the last four years.
Y.E. Yang [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #132
Yang has been unimpressive in his four starts this season, finishing outside of the top 70 in three straight events. However, he won this event in 2009 and was the runner-up in 2011 before finishing T30 last year.
Branden Grace [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #79
Prior to missing the cut at the Joburg Open in his native South Africa, Grace had finished seventh or better in three straight starts on the European Tour. He’s making his first stroke play start on Tour this season.
Matteo Manassero [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #158
Manassero has been very solid on the European Tour this season. In four starts, he has finished inside the top 25 each time with a pair of top-15s. The 19 year old is also making his first stroke play start on Tour this season.
Henrik Stenson [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #2
