Golf Rankings for Shell Houston Open
Fredrik Jacobson [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #91 - Not Entered
After opening the season with a missed cut, Jacobson has recorded a top-25 in four consecutive stroke play events. His best finish at Redstone was a T22 in 2010, sandwiched between MCs in 2009 and 2011.
Charles Howell III [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #56
Howell didn’t play Redstone last year, but finished T19 back in 2011. A T12 at Doral offered some hope CH3 was back to the player that was on fire in January, but he just finished T45 at Bay Hill.
Bryce Molder [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #169
Very quietly, Molder is putting together a respectable season with six top-30 finishes in seven starts and has yet to miss a cut. At Redstone, he finished T8 in 2010 and T18 last year. Molder ranks fifth in strokes gained-putting, ninth in birdie average and 27th in All-Around Ranking.
Graham Delaet [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #64
Prior to finishing T50 at Bay Hill, Delaet had finished 21st or better in five of six starts. He missed the cut in this event last year, but owns a T3 from 2010. Delaet currently ranks second in total driving, fifth in greens in regulation percentage and 27th in scoring average.
James Driscoll [Yahoo Class C]
Over his last five starts, Driscoll finished inside the top 30 three times. That includes a top-10 at Pebble Beach and a blown top-15 in the final round of the Honda. At Redstone, Driscoll finished T8 last year and T14 in 2010.
Henrik Stenson [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #2
Stenson is coming off a season-high T8 at Bay Hill. He’s played Redstone twice, a T3 back in 2009 and a T21 last year.
Carl Pettersson [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #189
Last week’s T21 at Bay Hill was Pettersson’s best performance since opening the season with his only top-10. In 2012, he finished as the runner-up at Redstone by a single stroke.
Josh Teater [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #186
After finishing T19 and T14 at Redstone, Teater would have missed the cut last year, but was instead disqualified for signing an incorrect score. After finishing with a share of second at Torrey Pines, Teater has made five of his six cuts, adding a top-10 at Riviera.
Scott Brown [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #177
Brown won the Puerto Rico Open, but has yet to finish outside of the top 30 in the four starts he’s made so far. He’s competing at Redstone for the first time.
Jordan Spieth [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #9
In his last three starts, Spieth has finished T22 at Pebble Beach, T2 in the Puerto Rico Open and T7 at Copperhead.
Nick Watney [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #120
Watney has not played Redstone since a T42 back in 2007. He’s made four of his last five cuts, but did not manage a top-40 in any of them.
John Senden [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #56
If you don’t expect too much, Senden is a sound mediocre option this week. Over the last two years, he’s finished T18 and T24 at Redstone. Senden has played seven stroke play events this season, missing two cuts with four finishes inside the top 30.
