Golf Rankings for THE PLAYERS Championship
Nick Watney [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #49
Watney is righting the ship with three straight top-15s this season, capped by a T10 last week at Quail Hollow. In 2011, he placed T4 in THE PLAYERS after a T17 in 2010, but struggled last year in the final two rounds of the event to finish T56.
Bo Van Pelt [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #106
The typically consistent Van Pelt struggled for much of the season until a T6 last week at Quail Hollow. BVP has played Sawgrass each of the last eight years, missing five cuts. Yet Van Pelt recorded a top 10 on the other three occasions, including two in the last three years. This looks like another boom or bust for BVP this week.

A missed cut for Stenson at Quail Hollow put an end to three straight finishes of 18th or better for him this season, highlighted by a share of second at Redstone. He won this event back in 2009, but would miss the next two cuts until placing T15 last year.

Steve Stricker [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #15
After a pair of runner-up performances earlier in the year, Stricker has placed T38 at Redstone and T20 in the Masters. He finished T12 at Sawgrass in 2011 and T22 in 2009, but missed last year’s cut, halting his impressive run of 49 consecutive cuts made.
Tim Clark [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #121
After a T11 in the Masters, Clark placed T24 the following week at Harbour Town. He’s put up good performances at Sawgrass with a T9 in 2009, a 2010 victory and last year’s T25.
