Brandt Snedeker [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #20
Snedeker is coming off a T11 in last week’s Open Championship and has finished inside the top 20 in three consecutive starts. Snedeker finished T5 in the 2009 edition of the Canadian Open, the last time it was held at Glen Abbey. Snedeker is currently third in birdie average, eighth in scoring average and fifth in All-Around Ranking.
Matt Kuchar [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #6
Kuchar has made 20 consecutive cuts, tied for the longest active streak on Tour. Following a runner-up performance at Colonial and a victory in the Memorial, he placed T28 in the U.S. Open and T15 last week at Muirfield. Kuchar is currently sixth in scoring average and 12th in strokes gained–putting.
Hunter Mahan [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #34
Over his last seven starts, Mahan owns six finishes of 26th or better, including last week’s T9 at Muirfield. He’s made the cut in three straight Canadian Open appearances and finished inside the top five at Glen Abbey back in 2004. Mahan is good for eighth in total driving.
Charl Schwartzel [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #17
Schwartzel has recorded four top-15s over his last five starts and has only missed one cut in 14 worldwide appearances. Schwartzel ranks third in scoring average and seventh in birdie average.
Luke Donald [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #29
Donald is coming off a missed cut at Muirfield ending a streak of six consecutive top-25s while playing on Tour. He played the 2009 Canadian Open at Glen Abbey to a T24 finish. Donald ranks sixth in strokes gained–putting and 10th in scoring average.
Dustin Johnson [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #13
Coming off a T32 last week at Muirfield, Johnson has made three consecutive cuts for just the second time this season. When healthy, D.J. has been a sound performer and sits fourth in driving distance despite some ups and downs.
Graeme McDowell [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #14
In 14 worldwide appearances McDowell has won three events, most recently at the French Open, but has also missed six cuts. He’s coming off a T58 at Muirfield but entered the final round in much better position. On Tour, McDowell is 11th in strokes gained – putting and 21st in scoring average.
Billy Horschel [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #50
Horschel has landed three podium finishes and six round top-10s over his last 11 starts this season. He currently ranks second in birdie average, 11th in total driving, 15th in scoring average and fourth in All-Around Ranking. Horschel is also ninth in ball striking.
Graham Delaet [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #30
A Canadian hasn’t won this event since 1954, but DeLaet gives the Great White North its best chance to crown a native in quite some time. DeLaet played the 2009 Canadian Open at Glen Abbey to a T46. He comes in with nine consecutive cuts made, ranking second in total driving, 19th in scoring average and 24th in birdie average. DeLaet also ranks first in ball striking.
Bubba Watson [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #4
Over his last six tournaments Watson has finished 37th or better each time. However, he’s only recorded one top-20 in that span. Bubba is sixth in birdie average, eighth in driving distance and 11th in greens in regulations percentage.
Ernie Els [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #41
After finishing T4 in the U.S. Open and winning the BMW International Open on the European Tour, Els missed the cut in the Scottish Open and is coming off a respectable T26 at Muirfield. On Tour, Els is 35th in scoring average.
Hideki Matsuyama [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #26
The 21-year-old Matsuyama has lit it up the Japan Golf Tour for two wins, two runner-up performances and seven top-10s in eight starts. He’s also played the last two majors, finishing T10 in the U.S. Open and T6 last week at Muirfield.
