Ezekiel Elliott NE RB
Ezekiel Elliott: Meeting with Dallas Wednesday
2h agoElliott's agent is meeting with the Cowboys in Dallas on Wednesday, Josina Anderson of CBS Sports reports.
This isn't the first time the two sides have been connected this offseason, as ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported last month that there was mutual interest in a reunion. The Cowboys lost Tony Pollard to the Titans in free agency and only added end-of-roster types Royce Freeman and Snoop Conner to a depth chart that includes Rico Dowdle, Deuce Vaughn and Malik Davis. Elliott played in all 17 games for the Patriots last season, turning in a 184-642-3 rushing line while adding 51-313-2 as a receiver on 65 targets. Dallas will likely draft a running back this week.

Trey Hendrickson CIN DE
Bengals' Trey Hendrickson: Reportedly seeking trade
3h agoHendrickson has requested that the Bengals trade him, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Per Schefter, Hendrickson -- who is in line to make $15 million this coming season -- is looking for more long-term security than the team has been willing to offer to this point. The 29-year-old is coming of a 2023 campaign in which he recorded 43 tackles and made a major impact as a pass rusher by racking up a career-high 17.5 sacks in 17 regular-season games.
-
Micah Parsons DAL LB
Cowboys' Micah Parsons: Contract option picked up
4h agoThe Cowboys have picked up Parsons' fifth-year contract option, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
The move keeps the 2021 first-rounder -- who played the majority of his snaps at defensive end in 2023 -- under contract with Dallas through the 2025 campaign. Per Gehlken, the star defender's salary in his fifth NFL season will be $21.32 million. The 24-year-old is coming off another productive effort with the Cowboys, in which he racked up 64 tackles and a career high 14 sacks in 17 regular-season outings.

James Hurst NO OG
James Hurst: Announces retirement
5h agoHurst announced his retirement from the NFL after 10 seasons on Wednesday, Katherine Teller of ESPN reports.
Hurst has started 51 games between guard and tackle for the Saints since joining the team as a free agent after the 2020 season. He began his career as an UDFA with Baltimore. Hurst's official retirement just one day prior to the start of the 2024 NFL Draft leaves the team with a glaring need at left guard, though the team did reportedly have advanced warning of the decision. With former left tackle/guard Andrus Peat still a free agent, O-line could be a target with pick No. 14 overall.

Penei Sewell DET OT
Lions' Penei Sewell: Inks massive extension
6h agoSewell and the Lions agreed to terms Wednesday on a four-year, $112 million contract extension, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Sewell's deal, which reportedly includes $85 million guaranteed, makes him the highest-paid offensive lineman in the NFL. The tackle has played at a high level since joining Detroit as the No. 7 overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, but he took a step forward in 2023 while earning first-team All-Pro honors. In addition to the elite RT, the Lions extended top wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown to a four-year extension Wednesday, both one day in advance of the 2024 NFL Draft kicking off.

Rashod Bateman BAL WR
Ravens' Rashod Bateman: Inks extension with Baltimore
7h agoBateman signed a two-year contract extension Wednesday.
Bateman was already under contract through the upcoming season in the final year of his rookie deal, but the Ravens had until May 2 to decide whether to exercise the receiver's $14.44 million team option for 2025. By reaching an extension with Bateman, the Ravens will no longer have to decide on whether to exercise or decline the option, as he's now on the team's books through 2026. The 24-year-old appeared in 16 of the Ravens' 17 regular-season games this past season, catching 32 of 56 targets for 367 yards and one touchdown. Despite Bateman's underwhelming production during his third NFL season, head coach John Harbaugh noted earlier in the offseason that he views the wideout as a candidate to "take a big step" forward in 2024, per Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official site. The Ravens' pass-catching corps should look mostly similar in 2024 as it did in 2023, as No. 1 wideout Zay Flowers is entering his second season and standout tight end Mark Andrews is back in the fold, though Odell Beckham is currently a free agent and may not be brought back.

Grant Anderson TEX RP
Rangers' Grant Anderson: Back in majors
1h agoThe Rangers recalled Anderson from Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Anderson has allowed four earned runs across two innings in the majors this season, and he'll now return to Texas with Austin Pruitt (knee) headed to the injured list. The 26-year-old right-hander figures to work exclusively in low-leverage situations while with the Rangers.
-
Austin Pruitt TEX RP
Rangers' Austin Pruitt: Lands on IL
1h agoThe Rangers placed Pruitt on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a right meniscus injury, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Pruitt has been touched four six earned runs across 4.1 innings in his first four appearances, and he'll now be sidelined for the two weeks due to problems with his knee. Grant Anderson was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move.

Jhoan Duran MIN RP
Twins' Jhoan Duran: Another rehab outing on tap
1h agoDuran (oblique) is scheduled for a second rehab appearance with Triple-A St. Paul on Friday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
According to Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com, the right-hander averaged 98.1 mph with his fastball -- down a couple ticks from the usual triple digits -- and surrendered two runs on four hits over one inning during Tuesday's rehab outing, but he felt fine physically during and after the appearance. Duran said he dealt with some mechanical issues during spring training that affected his velocity, and it's possible those problems flared up again. It's unclear how many rehab outings the Twins are looking for, but the 26-year-old could return within the next week if he continues to progress with no issues.

Lars Nootbaar STL LF
Cardinals' Lars Nootbaar: Two-run double in win
1h agoNootbaar went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Wednesday's win over the Diamondbacks.
Nootbaar doubled in his final at-bat of the contest to send home Nolan Arenado and Paul Goldschmidt, giving the Cardinals a 4-1 lead. It was only the left fielder's fourth multi-base hit of the season, though he's now driven in two runs in two of his last three games. Nootbaar has also hit safely in six of his last seven contests, but is still yet to put together a multi-hit performance.
-
J.P. Crawford SEA SS
Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Scratched Wednesday
1h agoCrawford was scratched from the Mariners' lineup ahead of Wednesday's game against the Rangers due to right oblique soreness.
The severity of Crawford's injury remains unknown, but it's apparently enough to keep him from starting in Wednesday's contest. Dylan Moore will enter the lineup as Seattle's new shortstop and bat eighth.
-
Kyle Gibson STL SP
Cardinals' Kyle Gibson: Sharp after rough start
1h agoGibson (2-2) earned the win against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over six innings while striking out six.
Gibson got off to a rocky start, allowing back-to-back hits while also hitting Joc Pederson with a pitch to open the game. However, the right-hander managed to escape the inning with only one run coming across before shutting out the Diamondbacks over the next five frames. Gibson has now gone at least six innings in each of his first five starts to open the season, posting a 20:12 K:BB over that stretch. He's also gone two starts without allowing a home run after allowing at least one long ball in each of his first three outings.

Cam Reddish LAL SF
Lakers' Cam Reddish: Sidelined for Game 3
30m agoReddish (ankle) won't play in Thursday's Game 3 against Denver, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Reddish will miss a sixth consecutive game -- stretching back to the regular season -- with a sprained right ankle. Taurean Prince should continue to benefit from Reddish's absence. His next chance to play will come Saturday for Game 4.
-
Christian Wood LAL PF
Lakers' Christian Wood: Ruled out for Game 3
32m agoWood (knee) has been ruled out for Game 3 against the Nuggets on Thursday, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Wood has been ramping up his workload and was hopeful that he would be able to get back to the court for Game 3, but the medical staff will hold him out for at least one more game. His next chance to play will come Saturday.
-
Jarred Vanderbilt LAL PF
Lakers' Jarred Vanderbilt: Missing Game 3
32m agoVanderbilt (foot) won't play in Thursday's game against the Nuggets, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Vanderbilt was highly involved in the Lakers' shootaround Monday and appears to be nearing his first taste of game action since Feb. 1. However, he'll still be inactive for Thursday's Game 3, making Saturday's Game 4 Vanderbilt's next chance to go.
-
LeBron James LAL SF
Lakers' LeBron James: Another probable tag
35m agoJames (ankle) is listed as probable for Thursday's Game 2 against Denver, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports.
James has been listed as probable for each of the first two games of the series but has averaged 39.5 minutes per contest. Considering he's looked to be 100 percent in both games and has been an injury report mainstay this season, fantasy managers should expect James to be available Thursday.
-
Anthony Davis LAL C
Lakers' Anthony Davis: Probable for Thursday
35m agoDavis (back) is probable for Thursday's Game 3 matchup with the Nuggets, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports.
AD played through the back issue during Game 2 and logged 39 minutes on his way to a 32-point, 11-rebound double-double, so it clearly didn't impact him all that much. We should get official confirmation on his status closer to Thursday's tip.
-
Dean Wade CLE PF
Cavaliers' Dean Wade: Missing First Round series
1h agoWade (knee) is out indefinitely and won't play in the remainder of the Cavaliers First Round series against the Magic, the team announced Wednesday.
Wade hasn't taken the floor since March 8 due to a right knee sprain and will be sidelined for the remainder of the series against Orlando. In the announcement, the Cavaliers said that a recent MRI revealed that Wade would need more time for recovery and is out indefinitely. Georges Niang and Isaac Okoro should continue to see plenty of action off the bench at the forward spots.
-
Casey DeSmith VAN G
Canucks' Casey DeSmith: In goal for Game 3
1h agoDeSmith will start Game 3 on the road versus the Predators on Friday, Robby Stanley of NHL.com reports.
DeSmith is now the Canucks' top goalie since Thatcher Demko (undisclosed) is considered week-to-week. DeSmith struggled in Game 2 on Tuesday, allowing three goals on 15 shots in a 4-1 loss. The 32-year-old will need a bit more goal support from his team, as well as a better performance between the pipes, if the Canucks are going to regain a series lead.
-
William Nylander TOR RW
Maple Leafs' William Nylander: Not playing Wednesday
2h agoNylander (undisclosed) is not on the ice for warmups, indicating he won't play in Game 3 versus the Bruins on Wednesday, David Alter of The Hockey News reports.
Nylander has been a game-time call throughout the playoffs, but he'll miss his third straight contest to open the first-round series. The 27-year-old's next chance to play is Saturday's Game 4 -- he may benefit from having an extra day to try to shake off the injury.
-
Max Jones ANA LW
Ducks' Max Jones: Recovers from shoulder injury
5h agoJones has been cleared from his sprain shoulder injury, the team announced Wednesday.
Jones missed the final 11 contests of the season because of the injury. He finished 2023-24 with five goals, 15 points, 33 PIM and 125 hits in 52 outings. The 26-year-old is set to become a restricted free agent this summer, and Jones figures to maintain his bottom-six role with the Ducks if they agree on a new contract.
-
Ivan Prosvetov COL G
Avalanche's Ivan Prosvetov: Heads to AHL
5h agoProsvetov was reassigned to AHL Colorado on Wednesday.
Prosvetov had a 3.16 GAA and an .895 save percentage in 11 outings with the Avalanche during the regular season. He has also supplied a 2.33 GAA and a .921 save percentage across 21 minor-league contests.
-
Chris Wagner COL RW
Avalanche's Chris Wagner: Dropped to minors
5h agoWagner was sent down to AHL Colorado on Wednesday.
Wagner passed through waivers Tuesday in order to make him available for the Eagles' playoff matchup with AHL Abbotsford on Wednesday. Even though Wagner was a healthy scratch for the Avs' first two postseason contests, Wagner will likely come back up to the NHL ahead of Game 3 versus Winnipeg on Friday.
-
Brad Hunt COL D
Avalanche's Brad Hunt: Sent down to minors
5h agoHunt was reassigned to AHL Colorado on Wednesday.
Hunt hasn't played in either of the Avs' first two playoff games. With the Eagles kicking off the Calder Cup playoffs against AHL Abbotsford on Wednesday, the blueliner should be expected to link up with the minor-league club. Don't be surprised to see Hunt recalled to the Avalanche ahead of Friday's Game 3 clash with Winnipeg, though he figures to remain an emergency depth option.
