Jalen McMillan 2005 WR
Buccaneers' Jalen McMillan: Tampa adds third-round wideout
3m agoThe Buccaneers selected McMillan in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 92nd overall.
McMillan might not have as much hype as former Washington teammate Rome Odunze or even Ja'Lynn Polk, but McMillan was about as productive as Odunze and was more productive than Polk prior to McMillan missing roughly two months with a knee injury in 2023. In other words, if McMillan never got hurt then Polk might not have been drafted ahead of McMillan. McMillan (6-foot-1, 197 pounds) demonstrated his skill set by producing alongside the likes of Odunze and Polk at Washington, and his solid combine proved the NFL viability of his athleticism (4.47-second 40, 37-inch vertical). Trey Palmer should not be in the WR3 role much longer for Tampa.

Kamren Kinchens 2005 S
Rams' Kamren Kinchens: Joins secondary in Los Angeles
5m agoThe Rams selected Kinchens in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 99th overall.
Kinchens came into the pre-draft process with potential to go much higher, but a disastrous combine performance hurt his stock. At 5-11 and 203 pounds, Kinchens was clocked with a 4.65 40-yard dash and had a broad jump that ranks in the seventh percentile among safeties. The lack of athleticism didn't hurt his on-field performance, however, and that's what the Rams are betting on. He was a First-Team All-American performer in 2022 and finished his career at Miami with 11 interceptions and 26 pass breakups. He has instincts and coverage ability on film, but how it translates to the NFL will be tested immediately by opposing offenses given the lag in athleticism.

McKinnley Jackson 2005 DL
Bengals' McKinnley Jackson: Another defensive tackle to Cincy
13m agoThe Bengals selected Jackson in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 97th overall.
Cincinnati is focusing on the interior defensive line on Day 2 as Jackson joins Kris Jenkins among rookie Bengals who play in the trenches. Jackson, a Texas A&M product, was a four-year player for the Aggies who broke through as a junior and continued his upward trajectory in 2023. Unlike Jenkins who is tall and lean by defensive tackle standards, Jackson is stout at 6-foot-1 and 326 pounds. The Bengals have added two different types of defensive tackles who can provide different functions behind the starting duo of B.J. Hill and Sheldon Rankins.

DeWayne Carter 2005 DL
Bills' DeWayne Carter: Lands with Buffalo
19m agoThe Bills selected Carter in the third round of the NFL Draft, 95th overall.
Buffalo needed a youth infusion in the middle of the defense coming into the draft and Carter provides that. A Duke product, Carter was a decorated player during his time in Durham, earning Third-, Second-, and First-Team All-ACC honors. He is a squat defensive tackle that is hard to move at 6-foot-2 and 302 pounds who fires off the ball. His most disruptive season came in 2022 when he had 11.0 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks and while his statistics fell off a bit in 2023, he still put together a strong season. He projects to be the heir apparent to DaQuan Jones alongside Ed Oliver.

MarShawn Lloyd 2005 RB
Packers' MarShawn Lloyd: Green Bay adds in third round
21m agoThe Packers selected Lloyd in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 88th overall.
Lloyd had an out-of-control fumbling problem in college at both USC and South Carolina, dropping the ball 11 times on just 291 career touches from scrimmage. If he keeps doing that at the NFL level he quite simply will not play. The good news is that if Lloyd can manage to fix his fumbling problem then he would have a lot of upside as one of the draft's toolsiest running backs. Lloyd packs memorable explosiveness and anchor onto a dense 5-foot-9, 220-pound frame, and when you pair his 4.46 speed with his low and dense center of gravity you have a running back who's very difficult to tackle. With Josh Jacobs around there won't be much for Lloyd to do in the near future, but the Packers have an interest in developing Lloyd so that he might hit his upside scenario, even if years down the road.

Adisa Isaac 2005 EDGE
Ravens' Adisa Isaac: Charm City bound
26m agoThe Ravens selected Isaac in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 93rd overall.
The Ravens went back to Happy Valley to address its pass rush, nabbing Isaac out of Penn State after spending a first-round pick on Odafe Oweh in 2021. Isaac suffered a torn Achilles in 2021 but came back strong the following season, playing all 13 games. Isaac truly made a name for himself in 2023 as a fifth-year senior with 7.5 sacks and 16 total tackles for loss. He's lean for an edge at 247 pounds, but he's also explosive with 4.7 speed. As it stands, he'll be part of a deep edge rotation in Baltimore that features Oweh, Kyle Van Noy, and David Ojabo.

Craig Kimbrel BAL RP
Orioles' Craig Kimbrel: Charged with second blown save
21m agoKimbrel blew the save in Friday's loss to the A's, allowing a run on two hits and three walks in one-third of an inning.
Kimbrel allowed all five batters he faced to reach base safely, with the lone out coming when JJ Bleday was thrown out at home trying to score on a wild pitch. While Kimbrel was lucky to escape with just one allowed, he was still charged with his second blown save of the year, the first since his first appearance of the season on April 1. Kimbrel hadn't allowed an earned run in 10 innings coming into Friday, striking out 15 in that span. Overall, the 35-year-old Kimbrel's 7-for-9 in save chances with a 1.59 ERA and 1.06 WHIP through 11.1 innings this season.
-
Zac Gallen ARI SP
Diamondbacks' Zac Gallen: Exits with trainer
31m agoGallen was removed from Friday's game against the Mariners with an apparent injury, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.
It's not immediately apparent what was bothering Gallen enough to call for his removal in the sixth inning, but the Diamondbacks should offer more information relatively soon. The 28-year-old right-hander was able to get through five frames Friday while surrendering three earned runs on three hits and a walk while striking out three batters.
-
Corbin Burnes BAL SP
Orioles' Corbin Burnes: Quality start in no-decision
42m agoBurnes did not factor into the decision Friday against Oakland, allowing one run on three hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out six.
Burnes was solid Friday, holding the A's to a lone run on a Shea Langeliers homer in the first inning. He'd depart with a one-run lead, though Oakland would tie the game off Craig Kimbrel in the ninth before beating the Orioles in extras, leaving Burnes with a no-decision. It's the first quality start in three outings for the 29-year-old right-hander -- Burnes failed to make it through six innings in his previous two starts. Overall, he's 3-0 with a 2.55 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 35:8 K:BB through six starts (35.1 innings) this season. Burnes is currently lined up for a home matchup with the Yankees next week.

Yandy Diaz TB 1B
Rays' Yandy Diaz: X-rays negative
1h agoX-rays on Diaz's hand came back negative Friday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Diaz had to leave Friday's game after getting hit in the hand by a pitch during the eighth inning, but it seems he escaped the incident without suffering any significant damage. He may still step out of the lineup for a game or two to avoid playing with any lingering pain, but an extended absence isn't likely.
-
Yandy Diaz TB 1B
Rays' Yandy Diaz: Exits after HBP
1h agoDiaz was removed from Friday's game against the White Sox after getting hit by a pitch, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Diaz took a 99-mph fastball off his hand during the eighth inning of Friday's contest and was immediately replaced on the bases. He will presumably undergo imaging, and the Rays should offer an update on his status sometime after the game.

Dominic Canzone SEA LF
Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Throwing and running
2h agoCanzone (shoulder) began a throwing and running program Friday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
General manager Justin Hollander added that the team hopes for Canzone to begin a hitting progression sometime next week, though he is still several weeks out from full baseball activities. The 26-year-old outfielder sprained the AC joint in his left shoulder April 14, and Hollander's comments suggest he is not close to returning anytime soon. Luke Raley and Jonatan Clase should continue splitting time in left field while Canzone works his way back.

Paul George LAC SF
Clippers' Paul George: Woeful in Game 3 loss
3m agoGeorge racked up seven points (3-11 FG, 1-6 3Pt), five rebounds and five assists across 30 minutes during Friday's 101-90 loss to the Mavericks in Game 3 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
George was non-existent in the loss, putting up his worst performance in quite some time. The Clippers managed to hang around but were never really in the contest. He is going to have to be much better when the two teams line up again Sunday, should the Clippers hope to return home with the series locked up.
-
Ivica Zubac LAC C
Clippers' Ivica Zubac: Flirts with double-double
5m agoZubac chipped in 19 points (8-11 FG, 3-3 FT), eight rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal over 32 minutes during Friday's 101-90 loss to the Mavericks in Game 3 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Zubac turned in a strong effort Friday, flirting with a double-double. He added a pair of defensive stats for good measure, delivering his best performance of the postseason. Now trailing 1-2 in the series, the Clippers are going to need Zubac to be more consistent moving forward, something he has struggled with this season.
-
Russell Westbrook LAC PG
Clippers' Russell Westbrook: Ejected in fourth quarter
31m agoWestbrook was ejected from Saturday's 101-90 Game 3 loss to the Mavericks with 6:10 to play in the fourth quarter. He finished with one point (0-7 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks in 19 minutes.
Westbrook let his frustrations get the best of him in this one. He was already carrying a technical foul when he proceeded to shove both Luka Doncic and P.J. Washington on the same play. Despite his outburst, a suspension is highly unlikely.
-
Royce O'Neale PHO PF
Suns' Royce O'Neale: Starting Game 3
1h agoO'Neale will start Friday's Game versus the Timberwolves, Alan Horton of the Timberwolves Radio Network reports.
Grayson Allen (ankle) will sit out Game 3, but he's considered day-to-day and could be back for Game 4 on Sunday. In 14 starts during the regular season, O'Neale averaged 10.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.9 three-pointers.
-
Grayson Allen PHO SG
Suns' Grayson Allen: Won't play Friday
2h agoAllen (ankle) will not play in Friday's Game 3 versus the Timberwolves.
This is a tough blow for the Suns, as Allen has been key to Phoenix's floor spacing this season. He was able to get in a limited practice Thursday and is considered day-to-day, so the Suns could potentially get him back for Game 4 on Sunday. Eric Gordon and Royce O'Neale are candidates to see increased run in the meantime.
-
Kyle Anderson MIN SF
Timberwolves' Kyle Anderson: Available to play
2h agoAnderson (hip) is available for Friday's Game 3 versus the Suns, Alan Horton of the Timberwolves Radio Network reports.
Fantasy managers should exercise caution before plugging Anderson into lineups, as the forward didn't touch the floor despite being cleared to play in Game 2. It remains to be seen if he'll rejoin the rotation for Game 3.
-
Spencer Stastney NSH D
Predators' Spencer Stastney: Exits Friday's contest
1h agoStastney (upper body) will not return to Friday's game against the Canucks.
Stastney logged just 6:36 before suffering an injury Friday. He's been held without a point in five straight games dating back to the regular season. An update on his status should be available before Game 4 on Sunday.
-
Stuart Skinner EDM G
Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Tending twine Friday
1h agoSkinner will get the starting nod for Game 3 in Los Angeles on Friday, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports.
Skinner has struggled so far this postseason, coughing up nine goals on 63 shots in two games. Including his final start of the regular season, he's 1-2-0 with an unsightly .829 save percentage over his last three outings. Skinner went 13-10-2 with an .894 save percentage and a 2.80 GAA in 27 road appearances during the regular season.
-
Samuel Girard COL D
Avalanche's Samuel Girard: Good to go Friday
2h agoGirard (concussion) is in the lineup for Game 3 against Winnipeg on Friday, Evan Rawal of Colorado Hockey Now reports.
Girard will return after missing the last four games. The 25-year-old was held without a point over his final 10 appearances in the regular season. He tallied three goals and 18 points in 59 games this season.
-
Trevor van Riemsdyk WAS D
Capitals' Trevor van Riemsdyk: Exits Friday's contest
3h agoVan Riemsdyk (upper body) will not return to Friday's game against the Rangers.
Van Riemsdyk took a huge hit against the boards that resulted in an interference penalty by Matt Rempe. Van Riemsdyk immediately left the ice and returned to the locker room. He logged 3:27 of ice time prior to getting injured. An update on his status should be available before Game 4 on Sunday.
-
Nick Jensen WAS D
Capitals' Nick Jensen: Unavailable Friday
5h agoJensen (upper body) will not suit up against the Rangers on Friday, Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press reports.
Jensen has now missed five straight games. The veteran blueliner tallied 14 points in 78 games during the regular season. He could return for Game 4 on Sunday.
-
Rasmus Sandin WAS D
Capitals' Rasmus Sandin: Out Friday
5h agoSandin (upper body) will not play Friday against the Rangers, Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press reports.
Sandin will miss his eighth consecutive game Friday. The 24-year-old was considered a game-time call Friday, so he should have a good chance at returning Sunday for Game 4 versus New York.
