Comments: NASCAR Picks for Kansas

It was a rather unusual trip to Texas last weekend, with the final 234 laps being run under green. As a result, only 12 cars finished on the lead lap, and only one of those drivers started outside the top 20. With the series heading right back to a 1.5-mile track this weekend at Kansas Speedway, fantasy owners have to be a bit leery about a repeat performance. Clean air and track position are kings at the larger, faster ovals. Without restarts and pit stops to shuffle the running order, drivers can end up playing a high-speed game of follow the leader.

Fortunately for owners, the chances of another two-caution race are slim. However, one thing owners should pay attention to is the finishing order from last weekend's race. Roush Fenway Racing, Hendrick Motorsports and Michael Waltrip Racing grabbed nine of the top-10 spots, and RFR and HMS placed all of their drivers inside the top 10. These three organizations have been strong from the drop of the green at Daytona, and no matter what type of racing unfolds at Kansas, there is a good chance all three will have a few representatives at the front of the field.
