Comments: NASCAR Picks for Talladega

Here we go again. When the Cup Series visits Talladega Superspeedway this weekend, drivers will have to deal with restrictor plates for the first time since the series opener at Daytona. The pack racing at the track may be exiting for the fans, but the big wrecks that it causes are a nightmare for fantasy owners. After all, an entire fantasy roster can be wiped out in a matter of seconds.

As far as strategies go, there is no perfect method for tackling plate tracks. In Yahoo! leagues, it is never a bad idea to avoid using drivers that you plan on using the max number of times during the year. Wasting a start from one of the elite options will only compound what could be a disastrous weekend. At the same time, using only sleeper picks probably won't pay off either. Use a healthy mix of big names and surprise drivers and hope they all stay out of trouble.
