Comments: NASCAR Picks for Dover

One week after tackling the marathon that is the Coca-Cola 600, the Cup teams will have to deal with a "Monster" this weekend when the series shifts to Dover International Speedway. The concrete track has been nicknamed the "Monster Mile" because of the violent wrecks that tend to occur. Unlike most tracks that have grass and ample space in the infield between the track and pit road, Dover has concrete walls on both sides of the racing surface with almost no infield. As a result, any wreck that occurs tends to involve at least one car slamming off one or both of the concrete walls.

On the track and even on pit road, the "Monster Mile" can definitely chew up race cars. Not surprisingly, some of the smoother, more patient drivers in the series have had a lot of success at Dover. Granted, aggressive drivers have won plenty of races at Dover as well, but veteran drivers and drivers that like to take their time getting to the front have excelled at the "Monster Mile" over the years. This weekend's race could be a chance for fantasy owners to take advantage of some different options when the assemble their rosters.
