2013 NFL Draft Picks By Team: Patriots
Southern Miss outside linebacker Jamie Collins has near-perfect measurables. Great height and weight combination, plus long arms and impressive wingspan. Collins is rapidly rising up draft boards after testing off the charts at the NFL Combine.
Still very raw in his understanding of the game. Mind ties up feet too often as he diagnoses the play. Good break on the ball and can close the distance quickly. A good tackler who looks to wrap up the ball carrier all the way to the ground. Flashes some good short area movement skills, quick lateral steps and at his best when he can roam downhill.
Developing in zone coverage and will need time. Has plenty of length and speed to match-up against more athletic tight ends. Must clean up wasted motion and learn how to flip his hips cleanly.
Must learn to play with more tenacity. Has all the natural tools, but doesn't bring A+ effort often enough. Above-average athleticism will garner a lot of attention, but may need a year on the bench to grow into a better all-around player.

Marshall Thundering Herd wide receiver Aaron Dobson has a very good combination of height, strength and speed and could potentially develop into a true No. 1 receiver at the next level.
Dobson has tremendous ball skills and can make difficult catches away from his body. Rarely allows the ball into his frame and can pluck it anywhere in his wingspan. Terrific body control and knows how to use his basketball background when using his body to shield away defenders.
Adequate speed and a long-strider. Can work the middle of the field and not afraid of contact after the catch. Route-running is inconsistent and will require polish in order to learn how to gain separation. Needs to be more precise with his footwork. Does well against press coverage. Bends well to explode in and out of cuts. Solid run blocker, nothing special.
Great leaper and can go up to win 50/50 balls. Deceptive speed and will likely need to run very well in order to further improve his draft stock.

Cornerback Logan Ryan from Rutgers University has NFL-ready length and athleticism. He excels at playing the ball and providing legit run support along the edge.
Ryan moves well in his lower half. Zone coverage is a strong suit and can close quickly to swipe at the ball. Good route recognition with crisp footwork to break on the football. Straight-line speed is adequate and can stay with his man on deep routes. If beaten by a double move, does not have enough speed to recover. Reads the quarterback's eyes well and isn't afraid to step up to contribute as a run defender.
Flips hips nicely to run with receivers. Press coverage needs work. Must use hands more effectively to throw receivers off their route. Takes good angles against the run. Fights with energy to separate from blockers. Not satisfied to simply hold the edge and looks to disrupt the play consistently. Solid tackler and stays low with good leverage. Good body control when going up for the ball. Can come down with 50/50 balls and keeps his body in between the ball and receiver. Effectively uses the sideline as an extra defender.
Ryan projects as a late second to early third round choice in the 2013 NFL Draft.... [Read More
Rutgers Scarlet Knights safety Duron Harmon was a two-year starter that really blossomed into a quality talent through his career. Anchored a much-improved Scarlet Knights defense in his senior season. Will likely require a "redshirt" season once at the next level.
Good in run support. Five INTs as a junior. Two-time first-team Big East selection. Solid ability to read and react. Below average break on the football. Relies heavily on discipline and diagnostic skills. Average athleticism. Intelligent.... [Read More
TCU Horned Frogs wide receiver Josh Boyce is a mid-round prospect with below-average height and very good speed who can work the slot and take the top off of defenses.
Boyce already has a maxed-out looking frame and likely would be unable to add an extra bulk. On the other hand, he was able to maintain an excellent timed speed at the 40 yard dash (4.38). Height could limit his ability to play anywhere except the slot. Tough after the catch due to core strength. Can break tackles and displays great balance. Average hands and will sometimes struggle to secure the ball if his arms are fully extended. Foot quickness is excellent when running routes. Locates the football very well. Surprised some scouts with his top-end speed at the Combine, causing many to likely revisit his game film.
Blocking is below-average. Must block to the whistle and bring more intensity to his craft. Highly aggressive on 50/50 balls. Brings high effort when running routes and particularly with the ball in his hands. Some tightness in his hips. Sets up defenders with nice head fakes and jukes.

Illinois defensive end Michael Buchanan had a lot of hype in his favor after his junior year. Lost 20 pounds during that offseason due to having jaw wired shut after breaking jaw in altercation. Weight loss took a toll on his body and was not the same player this past season. Long frame and arms. Will need to bulk up in a big way and this could require a redshirt year. Solid speed on the edge. Could transition to 3-4 OLB. Has experience both as a stand up OLB and with one hand on the ground. Extends arms well at times. Still needs refinement in his bend around the edge. Adding strength is the key.... [Read More
Rutgers Scarlet Knights inside linebacker Steve Beauharnais is an instinctual run defender with limited coverage skills. Rotational player who may never develop the fluidity to cover. Reads keys quickly and can diagnose the run. Fills lanes and can absorb a block while keeping a shoulder open for the ball-carrier. Flows to the football well. Athleticism is average. Durable and productive. Legit QB of the defense and leader. Big hitter without leading the ground. Good run fits. Must disengage from blockers more cleanly. Bigger blockers will latch on too easily.... [Read More
