2013 NFL Mock Draft

Round 1 (part 2) of 1

17. BAL: Kony Ealy, DE, Missouri*
The loss of DE Arthur Jones in free agency could force the Ravens to look for his replacement instead of trying to get a young WR. Ealy's stock is on the rise and he is an excellent athlete with very good size and skills.
18. NYJ: Eric Ebron, TE, North Carolina*
The Jets need a CB, but with the top guys off the board look for them to try to get Smith or Vick some weapons on offense. While the Jets really need a play making receiver, Ebron is considered the top TE in the draft and will give their offense a much needed weapon at the TE position.
19. MIA: Zack Martin, OT, Notre Dame
The Dolphins are in the process of rebuilding their offensive line to try to keep QB Ryan Tannehill from getting sacked as much in 2014. Martin will probably play RT or a Guard in the NFL, but his versatility will help Miami this season.
20. ARI: Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville*
The Cardinals really have more pressing needs, but unless some team trades up to grab him I could see Bridgewater falling on draft day in May. Palmer is not getting any younger and playing behind a veteran for a year would help Bridgewater long term.
21. GB: C.J. Mosley, LB, Alabama
Unless the Packers decide to go OL with this pick, they will take the best available defensive player on the board. Mosley may be the best LB in the entire draft class, so he will be tough to pass up for the linebacker needy Packers, and he would look good paired alongside AJ Hawk.
22. PHI: Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon State*
The Eagles could go in several directions with this pick, but after the release of WR DeSean Jackson, the Eagles are left very thin at receiver for QB Nick Foles. Cooks has been on the rise since the Combine and would be another player maker in Chip Kelley
23. KC: Odell Beckham, WR, LSU
I would not be surprised of the Chiefs decide to take an OL here, but for me they have a much bigger need for a WR. Beckham is coming off a big year at LSU and would immediately give Alex Smith a weapon at receiver.
24. CIN: Bradley Roby, CB, Ohio State
The Bengals defensive secondary is a concern, and while Roby has some off the field issues, he could provide immediate help for Cincinnati. Also the Bengals could look at a DE after losing Michael Johnson in free agency.
25. SD: Louis Nix, DT, Notre Dame*
The Chargers biggest weakness was on the defensive side of the ball last year where they need help on the DL and in the secondary. DT Louis Nix could move in to help be a run stopper for them unless one of the top CB's is still available.
26. CLE: Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State*
Reportedly the Browns are willing to pass on a QB at number four in hopes of using this pick to draft a QB. They are hoping Carr is their quarterback of the future and that he will still be on the board at 26
27. NO: Dee Ford, DE/OLB, Auburn
The Saints need to bolster their DL and Ford would be a nice fit for Rob Ryan’s defensive schemes as a pass rush specialist.
28. CAR: Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Florida State*
In what is a pass happy NFL nowadays, Cam Newton has no one to catch the ball as the Panthers receiving crop is a joke. Drafting a WR has to be the Panthers top priority. Benjamin is young but he will give Newton a big receiving threat and a red zone target.
29. NE: Ra'Shede Hageman, DT, Minnesota
The Patriots have upgraded their secondary in free agency, so adding some help on the defensive line must be addressed in this upcoming draft. Hageman would fill a need and immediately upgrade the interior of the defensive line.
30. SF: Jason Verrett, CB, TCU
The 49ers could use an upgrade in their defensive secondary especially at the corner position. Verrett is a tough player and an aggressive CB that could fit in to San Francisco
31. DEN: Xavier Su'a-Filo, OG, UCLA
The Broncos loaded up on defense in free agency this off season, and while they still have a few holes to fill on defense, I think keeping Peyton Manning upright and healthy is the Broncos top priority. Sua-Filo should help upgrade the OL.
32. SEA: Stephon Tuitt, DL, Notre Dame*
The Seahawks defensive line took a hit in free agency and Truitt is an underrated prospect who has the ability to excel against the run and the pass. The Seahawks could also decide to grab an OL or WR if one of the top players were to fall to them at this pick.
