As a Detroit fan I respectfully disagree with you. Glover Quin is a solid player, but plays way too slow to be an ideal FS. I know he came into the league as a CB, but the way he runs now he's a better fit at SS. Ihedigbo is pretty much just a 1 year rental as a starter at SS, who ideally will just be able to provide depth in year two of his contract. I'm not saying that I'd take Clinton-Dix at the #10 spot, but it's perfectly logical, and a big upgrade if they select him with the expectation to take over the FS spot at some point this year. And from what I hear, the Lions pick won't be obvious, it will actually surprise a lot of people.
You said the lions need a FS. That is 100% inaccurate. They have Glover Quin. He is one of the better safeties in the league. The argument for Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix is almost non because of the signing of James Ihedigbo. The Lions new head coach Jim Caldwell said they are looking for a "Flamethrower" pass rushing outside Linebacker. Does that sound like anyone in this draft? Maybe a RB that switched to LB in his sophmore year and ran a 4.44 fourthy yard dash from UCLA. Thats right, the obvious lions pick is Anthony Barr.
