2014 NFL Mock Draft

Round 2 (part 1) of 2 Rounds

33. (2.1) HOU: Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State
There is buzz saying Carr might be picked in the Top 20. That would be a mistake.
34. (2.2) WAS: Lamarcus Joyner, CB, Florida State
Joyner is physical as they come. If he were three inches taller, he could be a Top 10 pick.
35. (2.3) CLE: Xavier Su'a-Filo, OG, UCLA
The draft's top guard has previous experience at tackle and pass protects very well.
36. (2.4) OAK: Louis Nix, DT, Notre Dame
Nix was a mid-first round guy if he had decided to come out last year. A really bad 2013 has pushed him down just about everybody's board but he's finally healthy now.
37. (2.5) ATL: Stephon Tuitt, DE, Notre Dame
Tuitt is another guy who looked better in 2012. A big, thick defensive end who can contribute on all three downs.
38. (2.6) TB: Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE, Washington
An above-average athlete who can do a little bit of everything. Improved as a blocker last year.
39. (2.7) JAX: Demarcus Lawrence, OLB, Boise State
The Jags have no one you've probably heard of at outside linebacker. They need to blow it up and build it back up again.
40. (2.8) MIN: Dee Ford, DE, Auburn
Ford is another possible first rounder who falls into my second round. He would provide depth behind Everson Griffin or push Brian Robison for starting time.
41. (2.9) BUF: Deone Bucannon, SS, Washington State
Bucannon pushes ahead of Jimmie Ward, a very similar safety prospect, primarily because of size.
42. (2.10) TEN: Carlos Hyde, RB, Ohio State
Hyde is the first back on the board and he would absolutely challenge Shonn Greene for the No. 1 job.
43. (2.11) NYG: Scott Crichton, DE, Oregon State
The Giants, again, go back to their roots and must improve their pass rush. Crichton is a strength guy who can collapse the pocket.
44. (2.12) STL: Joel Bitonio, OT, Nevada
Bitonio is an ideal right tackle with a balanced ability as both a run and pass blocker.
45. (2.13) DET: Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Florida State
Benjamin slides down amid concerns about his speed/agility. His presence could allow the Lions to use Golden Tate in the slot.
46. (2.14) PIT: Dominique Easley, DT, Florida
Hard to overlook medical concerns; however, he has first round athleticism and could be a steal for a team that can wait for him to heal his wounds.
47. (2.15) DAL: Jeremiah Attaochu, OLB, Georgia Tech
The Cowboys can't get enough defensive front help as their transition to a 4-3 defense has not panned out very well.
48. (2.16) BAL: Jimmie Ward, SS, Northern Illinois
Ward is tough as nails safety who seems to play one step ahead of the rest.
