2011 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Jamie Harper, RB, Clemson

Jamie Harper spent the 2008 and 2009 campaigns behind some great running backs like James Davis and C.J. Spiller. Even Harper, as a highly regarded recruit, could not earn much playing time over those two. In 2008, Harper only garnered 34 carries, gaining 133 yards and one trip to the end zone. With Davis gone in 2009, Harper still had to battle for second fiddle behind Spiller with Andre Ellington. Harper saw his rush total increase to 80, but his yards-per-carry average was nothing too great.

Harper was ready to turn into the Tigers' main rushing threat in 2010. He did just that by leading the team with 197 carries for 682 yards. However, those are not the superb numbers one has come to expect from a Clemson rusher.

Harper opted to leave school early and throw his name into the NFL Draft. He has a ton of potential, but has never really carried the load for the Tigers. He is a strong and powerful back who should not have any trouble hanging around with the tough players in the NFL. He has good speed and great hands and those are his best strengths, but that will not get him drafted in the first couple of rounds.
