2015 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, CB, Oregon
Ekpre-Olomu has been one of the premiere cover corners in college football. Blessed with excellent recognition skills, he consistently makes plays on the ball and shows an above-average ability to separate the ball from the receiver.
A touch undersized at 5-foot-10, Ekpre-Olomu makes up for a lack of size with a willingness to get after receivers and play with active, physical hands to disrupt routes within the rules of the game. Mirrors receivers well and can stay in their hip pocket throughout routes. Gambles at the right times. Good press-man technique. Doesn't get caught with his hips open. Very aggressive tackler, although his technique is lacking. Very fluid in his lower half. Good agility in a phone booth. Average leaper. Adequate top-end speed. Lacks ideal recovery speed if beaten by a double move.
Very good anticipation on the ball. Good hands and can go up and make difficult catches. Needs to get stronger in order to gain separation when being run blocked. Plays through traffic well. Not a clean tackler, tends to grab and drag defenders down.
Ekpre-Olomu projects as a mid to late first round selection in the 2014 NFL Draft.
