2008 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
Jeremy Zuttah, OL, Rutgers
Zuttah's stock got a big boost after an excellent performance at February's combine in Indianapolis, where he was the only offensive lineman to run the 40 in under five seconds (4.99) and benched 35 reps, which was one of the best totals of any player at the combine. For the last four seasons, he was one of the key members of an offensive line that paved the way for a Rutgers resurgence and for the emergence of Ray Rice as one of the nation's top tailbacks. Zuttah started in all four seasons at Rutgers and was a All-Big East first-team selection in 2006 and 2007. At only 6'3, 295, there are doubts about where he will fit best on the line and if and how much he'll have to bulk up to hold his own on the next level. But, he showed that he certainly has the necessary strength and along with his quickness and athleticism, Zuttah has a lot of talent and potential. He played both left and right tackle at Rutgers and could very well move inside and play guard or even center in the NFL. With his combine performance, Zuttah has likely gone from a fifth-round pick, at best, to a fourth-rounder or better.
