2014 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
person

Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE , Washington

Entering the 2013 season, Seferian-Jenkins was widely considered one of the best TEs in college football. The Huskies eased him into the season and a slow start hurt his final statistics. One thing should be made clear though: ASJ has a bright NFL future ahead of him and should certainly hear his name called by Day 2 of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Seferian-Jenkins has excellent size, length and agility. Runs smooth, crisp routes. Puts great corners on his routes. Excellent hands. Huge target at 6-foot-6 and catches any and everything in his radius. High points the football at a near-elite level. Great leaper. Will wow on-lookers at the NFL combine.

Improved a great deal as a blocker this year. Athletic enough to learn the techniques with no issue. Has sufficient strength to handle defenders while in-line blocking. Washington used him as a blocker quite often in 2013 and that also played a part in his modest receiving totals. Plays best when kept active in the offense early.

ASJ projects as a late-first to second round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Does a lot of little things well, but unlikely to make fantasy impact as a rookie. Late second to early third round pick in dynasty rookie. Unless he quickly rises to No. 1 on the depth chart, he doesn't deserve recognition in redraft.
