2008 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Ryan O'Hara, QB, Central Oklahoma

O'Hara began his college career at the University of Arizona. He played in five games, starting one, as a redshirt freshman in 2002, completing 33 of 78 passes for 341 yards and a couple of TDs. He left Arizona and enrolled at Scottsdale Community College where he started all the school's games at QB. His season performance earned him All Conferences acclaims. After one year there, O'Hara was on the move again. Prior to the 2006 season, O'Hara transferred to the University of Central Oklahoma, where he started all of the team's games during his junior season and completed 156 of 288 pass attempts for 1,689 yards with an 11/8 TD-to-Interception ratio. His senior campaign saw him passing for 1,356 yards on 109 passes completed out of 208 attempts. His TD-INT ratio was just 6/13. O'Hara posses a QB frame, he is big and has some athletic ability. While he is not fast (4.70-40), he can move in the pocket and buy time with his legs. But, he is terribly inaccurate (average 53.3 completion percentage) and doesn't have the strongest arm. His mechanics need tons of work. He also did not dominate, physically or mentally, against a low-level competition. Off the field issues are also a concern. O'Hara does posses the necessary intangibles to make a practice squad, but he does not have any special talent that would separate him from the rest. An average arm, accuracy concerns and poor showing against second tier competition all equal free agency at best.
