2009 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Chris Pizzotti, QB, Harvard

He was active for one game in 2004 and did not play in 2005 due to a herniated disc which did not required surgery. Pizzotti opened the 2006 season as the team's starter, but suffered a knee injury that forced him out of the next two games. He was also benched for five games in 2006. Overall, he completed 70 out of 142 passes (49.3%) for 1,051 yards, with 6 TD and 5 INT. Pizzotti was slated to begin the 2007 season on the bench, but injuries to the starters forced him to the playing field. He started the last seven games of the season for the Crimson, completing 164 of 260 passes (63.1%) for 2,134 yards with 14 TD and 4 INT. Pizzotti was named All Ivy League Starting QB and granted a fifth year of eligibility in 2008. Tall and strong, he has a long football pedigree. He is a hard-worker and fast learner, but is slow of feet (5.00). Although big, Pizzotti lacks a big-time arm. Is not accurate enough for the next level. Struggled against the pass rush. Overall skill level is very pedestrian. Did not post big numbers in the Ivy League. If you look only at Pizzotti by his profile or the numbers he put up at Harvard, you will miss the entire picture. Yes, his skill level is average at best, but like past Harvard QB, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Pizzotti has moxie. He needs a big post season to grab a draft spot. But, even if he is not drafted, he will probably make some team's roster.
