2010 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Dan Lefevour, QB, Central Michigan

Dan LeFevour has done a lot of things during his career with Central Michigan. The 6-3 quarterback won the conference's Freshman of the Year honors in 2006 and was an honorable mention Freshman All-American by multiple media outlets. Not only did LeFevour throw for over 3,000 yards as a freshman, but he also proved to be a great rusher and reached the end zone seven times on the ground. In 2007 he became just the second player in NCAA history to pass for 3,000 yards and run for 1,000 in the same season. His company in that elite group is Vince Young. That season he also joined Tim Tebow as the only player to pass for at least 20 touchdowns and score 20 touchdowns. In all, LeFevour accounted for an amazing 47 touchdowns in 2007. LeFevour's numbers dipped in 2008, but he still proved to be an efficient passer and did lead the team in rushing with 592 yards; more important than the touchdowns and rushing is the passing efficiency. Through 11 games in the 2009 season, LeFevour has completed an impressive 71.7 percent of his passes and has thrown just five interceptions. At 6-3 and 238 pounds, LeFevour has the size NFL teams will be looking for in a signal caller. He does not exactly have experience in a pro style offense, but he should be able to prove any doubters wrong during senior week when he can take a few more snaps under center. 1/24 Update: LeFevour kept up his impressive collegiate career and ended his senior campaign with a victory over Ohio in the Mid-American Conference Championship game and a win over Troy in the GMAC Bowl. LeFevour will participate in the Senior Bowl and his performance under center there will boost or drop him on the draft boards. Right now he looks like a solid third round signal caller for a team that has some other options at quarterback while LeFevour spends a year or two learning on the sidelines. 4/10 Update: LeFevour surprised--and disappointed--many by not throwing to moving targets at the NFL Combine in February. He waited until his pro day in late March to do that. While his accuracy has not been much of an issue, his arm strength was a little disappointing while throwing to his comfortable receivers in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. He could have boosted his stock with a good showing and maybe moved into the second round. That probably did not happen and LeFevour is likely a third rounder.

Prediction: 3rd Round

Poor man's Jake Locker athletically, but is more accurate. Average arm strength but can make basically every NFL throw. I think he will be one of the bigger steals in the draft.

Prediction: 3rd Round

I agree w/ 3rd round. Small school talent. I hate college not having many pro style offenses. Either the qb play is going to go down in the NFL OR they will adopt the spread, especially w/ the 5 yrd no contact rules. Will see if he bombs at the senior bowl and/or combine. If he has no problems w/ footwork coming back from center, Im all for my Redskins taking him in 3rd to groom under a 1-2 yr band-aid like Pennington or another vet.

Prediction: 3rd Round

The Redskins do not have a 3rd round pick. I am not sure Shanahan takes him. He likes guys with rifle arms.

Prediction: 3rd Round

I am hoping that the Rams take LeFevour in the 3rd round after taking Suh in the first round, Roddrick Muckleroy(OLB) or Toby Gerhart(RB) in the second round. The Rams may sign Michael Vick or another veteran QB to play for a year or two which would give LeFevour time to develop and learn.

Prediction: 3rd Round

He'll either develop into a solid starter or be out of the league in 3 years. Only adequate arm strength and played in the spread. Has the size and abilityto develop well though.
