Dezmon Briscoe, WR, Kansas

When talking about possible first round receivers, Dezmon Briscoe is often left out of the conversation. However, after players like Arrelious Benn, Dez Bryant and Brandon LaFell, there are few -- if any -- other players who are better NFL prospects than Briscoe. As a true freshman in 2007, Briscoe caught seven touchdown passes for Kansas, setting a school record for freshmen. By 2008 he was garnering national attention and caught 92 passes for 1,407 yards and 15 touchdowns. Despite those superb numbers, he was not even named to the First-Team All-Big 12 team. Such is life in the Big 12, but Briscoe has something most other receivers in the Big 12 do not have. His 6-3, 200 pound frame is what will keep him in the first or second round of the NFL Draft. Briscoe has the size and the speed to absolutely dominate smaller cornerbacks. He will not dominate anybody in the NFL right away, but he could develop into that type of player. He has been dominating thus far in 2009. In nine contests, Briscoe has once again proven to be the big play receiver for the Jayhawks and is averaging over 110 receiving yards per game and has reached the end zone a total of eight times. 1/19 Update: With the firing of Mark Mangino, Briscoe also decided to head out of Kansas. After finishing the season with 84 receptions for 1,337 yards and nine scores it was probably a good move. Briscoe fell off the national radar as the Jayhawks lost their last seven games of the season, but he should be a pleasant surprise during workouts and will likely be a second or third round selection.

Prediction: 2nd Round

I love this kid. Is a very underrated reciever. Good hands, good speed, and great size. Can dominate cornerbacks with time to develope in the NFL. Has been overlooked because of playing for Kansas, and being hidden behind Dez Bryant in the Big 12. Should become better known with solid combine workouts. Good route runner.
