2009 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Kyle Moore, DE, USC

Kyle is one of the most underrated players in this draft. This is not to say he could be a star or something close to it, but he should be an interesting a player to watch in the NFL. His name is not well known because he played with all world talent at USC. Nevertheless, he is a two year starter who had seven sacks and 65 tackles for the Trojans in those seasons. Moore is a good athlete with a frame to build on it, with better than average moves and quickness. While not explosive, he does move fluidly inside. He is good at bending his knees, and has surprisingly good agility for a man his size. However, he is not physical enough and will get pushed around in the NFL. Moore does not attack with force; he needs to add bulk. He also tends to play too tall, lacking polished moves with a tendency to wear out late in games. His lack of desire at times leaves a big question mark. Moore is a project. He is still growing and learning to play the position despite his four year career at USC. He might be better suited to play the left side. Moore will need time to learn the pro game. Right now, he projects as a solid backup DE -- which is why he will probably be picked no higher than the fourth round. Despite this "universally accepted" projection, Moore has the talent to be something more, it is up to him.
