2011 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Tavita Pritchard, QB, Stanford

Pritchard has started only one year at Stanford. In 2008, the redshirt junior threw for 1,633 yards, completing 147 out of 254 passes (57.9 completition %) with a 10-13 TD/INT ratio. He is the second option on a weak offensive team. He is a good athlete with the mantle to play the position. With a good height (6-3),he has the frame to add bulk. He throws well on the run and has decent quickness (4.90, 40 yard time), but lacks pure, straight line speed. Pritchard has shown good timing and touch on short-to-intermediate routes. He is a great leader, able to command the huddle with ease. However, he is a little slim and needs to add weight. He also lacks some arm strength and doesn't show enough zip on out routes. His deep balls tend to die and his release isn't ideally quick -- accuracy disappears beyond the fifteen yards range. He will need time to adjust to the speed and complex coverage reads of the NFL. Overall, Pritchard is an average QB with marginal skills to make it at the next level. He is a true leader who has the ability to manage a game or two, but he lacks the elite physical tools to become more than a third stringer. Right now, he is a seventh round projection.
