2010 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Jacoby Ford, WR, Clemson

Jacoby Ford was the special teams player-of-the-year as a true freshman and started to show off his receiving skills in 2007 before he went down with an ankle injury. Healthy during his junior campaign, Ford finally turned into the productive receiver most expected he would. He caught 55 passes for 710 yards and three touchdowns and had a great game against Nebraska in the Gator Bowl. With the departure of Aaron Kelly (who led the team in receiving in 2008), this is Ford's team in 2009. So far Ford has done all that could be asked of him. He has caught 25 passes for 307 yards and two touchdowns. On a team with a quarterback that has completed fewer than 49 percent of his passes and thrown just five touchdowns to equal his five interceptions, Ford's numbers are not that bad. Kelly had similar issues last year and he ended up not being drafted at all. However, comparisons between Ford and Kelly are pretty worthless. Kelly was a big receiver, while Ford is a speedster and a big play receiver. Ford has been on the track team throughout his entire Clemson career and is one of the best 60m and 100m runners in college. It is that speed that makes him a weapon and that is why even quarterbacks who cannot throw downfield effectively can get the ball to Ford in space; he can make things happen. 1/17 Update: Ford continued to be Clemson's big play receiver and ended his senior season averaging nearly 14 yards per catch. The quarterback play got more consistent as the season progressed and that helped Ford put up better numbers and led to a team high six receiving touchdowns. Ford even did a good job returning kicks when the opposition was too afraid to kick or punt anywhere near C.J. Spiller. Ford is probably a third round pick right now, but that could change when he blows away scouts with his 40 time.

Prediction: 2nd Round

explosive , faster than cj spiller in my opinion
could be a special teams star right away
maybe a better 3rd round pick than 1st or 2nd.

Prediction: 2nd Round

Despite his shortness, Jacoby Ford is onna explode on the NFL scene with his speed and much improved route running. He is what Darrius Heyward Bey should be.
