Justin Woodall, SS, Alabama

After seeing little action throughout his first two years in Tuscaloosa, Woodall started all 28 games of his junior and senior seasons. In 2008 he made 47 tackles and intercepted four passes. As part of a dominant Alabama defense that helped the Crimson Tide win the BCS National Championship, Woodall was just as good (if not better) in 2009. The strong safety recorded 45 total tackles -- good for sixth on the team -- and added three more interceptions. His performance earned him an invite to the 2010 East-West Shrine Game in Orlando. At 6'2' and 220 pounds, Woodall is a big, physical safety. He has decent speed and has been clocked as fast as 4.50 in the 40-yard dash, but he generally runs somewhere around 4.60 at that distance. Woodall can't stay with the fastest receivers in one-on-one coverage and his agility is not particularly special, either. However, he does fare much better in zone coverages and he is a reliable, hard-hitting tackler. Furthermore, Woodall comes with absolutely no kind of injury history or off-the-field red flags. A very hard worker, he won Alabama's Bobby Johns Defensive Back Award for his efforts during spring practice in 2009. Woodall is a great athlete who also starred in baseball during his high school days and he could probably venture into the MLB rather than the NFL if that peaked his interest. For now, look for him to stick with football and go off the board sometime around the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Draft.
