2010 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
Andre Anderson, RB, Tulane
Andre Anderson did not step onto Tulane's campus and immediately make an impact. He has had to work hard to reach the top of the depth chart, but that hard work has turned him into a viable NFL running back. As a freshman in 2006 Anderson only carried the ball 18 times for 38 yards and one touchdown. The following year Anderson was still stuck behind Matt Forte on the depth chart and only carried the ball 14 times for 91 yards, but he did manage to score a touchdown. In 2008 Anderson finally got his chance and he did not disappoint (at least until he got hurt). Before suffering a season ending shoulder injury, Anderson carried the ball 174 times for 864 yards and seven touchdowns; all of that was in just seven games. Anderson also proved to be a decent pass catcher out of the backfield and added 25 receptions for 202 yards and a score to his growing resume. In 2009 Anderson was healthy again and rushed for over 1,000 yards and reached the end zone a total of nine times. Anderson has not played too much due to Forte and the shoulder injury, but when he is in the game he has been very productive. That might not be enough to make him a first or second round selection, but it should make him a quality mid-round running back who can contribute to most NFL teams.
