2010 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Rashawn Jackson, FB, Virginia

Rashawn Jackson is a coach's dream. Wherever he is needed, Jackson will go. He started as a running back in 2005, but was switched to linebacker halfway through the season, despite not even playing a single snap. In 2006 as a redshirt freshman, Jackson was a backup inside linebacker who spent most of his time on special teams. In 2007 Jackson moved again, this time from linebacker to fullback. While his primary job was blocking for running backs Cedric Peerman and Mikell Simpson (as well as quarterback Jameel Sewell), Jackson still carried the ball 20 times for 72 yards and caught eight passes for 46 yards and a touchdown. Jackson caught 14 passes in 2008 and was third on the team in rushing attempts, but his most valuable job again was blocking for the premiere backs and playing on special teams. However, Jackson is playing a much more prominent role in the offense during his senior campaign. Through eight games, he is leading the Cavaliers with 282 rushing yards and has added 15 receptions for 153 yards. Virginia's offense is pretty bad so far this season, but Jackson is a pleasant surprise and the Cavaliers will take any production they can get; right now Jackson is the guy who can actually move the ball on the ground.
