2011 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Shiloh Keo, SS, Idaho

Shiloh Keo was forced into action as a true freshman in 2006 and the strong safety did a superb job. He ranked second on the squad with 72 tackles and added six pass breakups and an interception. Keo kept the good times rolling in 2007. Despite an awful 1-11 season for the Vandals, Keo kept the defense solid by totaling 81 tackles and recovering three fumbles and picking off three passes. The Vandals struggled again in 2008 and Keo was hurt during the fourth game of the year and received a medical hardship. Keo was back and ready to go in 2009 and ended up second in the Western Athletic Conference in tackles.

Keo's tackling numbers have gone down in 2010, but that is in large part due to the talent emerging on the Vandals defense. For years it seemed like Keo was going at it alone, but that is not the case this year. Keo has still tallied 42 tackles through eight games and has picked off three passes and forced a fumble.

Keo is likely a mid-round selection. He does not have blazing speed or superb strength, but he can lay out the big hit and he does have a good enough combination of size and speed to play at the next level. Ideally, Keo is a strong safety, but he can also play free safety and return punts.
