2011 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Justin Boren, OG, Ohio State

Boren has a lot of the qualities that NFL coaches are looking for in an interior lineman. He plays with a decent mean streak and intensity. Boren has a strong first punch that can clear a quick running lane. He plays with such an intensity, coaches will love his attitude. However, he also needs to learn how to play one play at a time and not over-exert himself on a single run block. Highly aggressive, but lacks side-to-side quickness and must learn to play with consistent technique rather than solely relying on his strength and "want-to" every play. Powerful run blocker who will need to learn how to better use his hands in pass blocking.

His strength and athleticism are only adequate at best, which limits his long-term potential. He plays well when drive-blocking but as a zone blocker, he has a lot to learn.

Boren transferred to the Buckeyes in 2008 from Michigan, sat out that season and returned to play in 2009. He cited the "erosion" of values with the hiring of Michigan head coach Rich Rodriguez.

Boren projects as a possible seventh round pick in 2011 NFL Draft.
