2011 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Derrick Locke, RB, Kentucky

Locke has the look of a Warrick Dunn, except maybe even faster. If he becomes as shifty as Dunn and develops the same kind of vision, watch out. The former Kentucky running back stands at just 5'8'' and 188 pounds, but he has been clocked as fast as 4.29 in the 40-yard dash. Locke will not be a high draft pick simply because of his diminutive frame, but the success of Dunn and--more recently--Darren Sproles, should make at least one NFL team take a risk no later than the fourth round.

Locke's career at Kentucky also speaks volumes for his talent and potential. One of the more experienced offensive players in college football, Locke had an instant impact with the Wildcats right from the start. He had 156 carries in his first two seasons and scored a total of seven touchdowns. He really broke out during his final two campaigns: 195 carries, 907 yards, six touchdowns as a junior; 166 rushes, 887 yards, 10 scores as a senior. Locked also caught 95 passes out of the backfield during his career, so he is a proven dual threat.
